I am by no means an expert on film, but these drills showed a well polished QB from what I saw. Great footwork, looked to scan the field well, and nice zip on the throws. I can at least see why he is so well regarded.

That adds for me to wonder how well we are sitting with him, and how will the 15' class effect his decision? I know we need to get a QB this year, but I would not want it to be something that deters Henry's decision. Just some random thoughts.

Because the top of next years class is so darn good there is some talk out there that some schools like ND, Bama, etc. may not take a QB if they don't get one of the few left on the board for 2015. Then go all in for 2016. Eason and Henry being the two at the top. Not sure it happens this way but I like Henry better than any of the 2015 QB's left on the board.

I can certainly understand why. Looks very smooth in everything he does. I do not know much about Eason, sans he is a legacy and more of a pro style guy. Under Kelly I will always prefer a dual threat QB so I certainly agree with your preference.

Honestly there are really only three guys minus Barnett that I like in this class and two of them are committed elsewhere with Waller being the third. If we could get him or flip White or the TT commit I am all for it, otherwise I would rather they passed all together and get an extra skill player. Good thoughts bro.

Did the neighborhood lawnmower break down prior to the camp? Good lord that grass was long.

Henry is really feeling ND right now. It seems as though the staff has identified him as the QB for 2016. LaFleur is all over this kid and they are developing a great relationship.

They have identified him as the top target. The uncertainty of the 2015 QB situation doesn't leave much choice. LaFleur needs to bring his "A" game.

-Malik really liked the campus and how it was on the smaller side but very nice. Took a tour of the campus and got to see the Basilica, the Grotto, and some of the dorm rooms.

-He really liked Coach LaFleur. He learned a lot from him and will use some of the drills and techniques he learned from II at home. He also liked how LeFleur interacted with his quarterbacks.

-He got to spend time with Zaire and Stanley.

I definitely noticed this as well. ND must have big plans for him as a public face of the program.

I may be off base but it also tells me the coaches also really like what they are seeing on the field from him.

Dual but with a very good arm.
He's much more of a passer than the norm for DT-QB's.

I would describe him more as an athletic pro style QB than as a Dual Threat QB.

95% of time Dual Threat QB's are more runners than they are passers and are all about the read option and only being half the passer that pro style QB's.

Whereas Malik is player than can and will be known for his passing with the bonus of running if needed but he unlike most will not need a playbook based mostly on legs rather than his passing skill.

Told Marc Givler of BuckeyeGrove (rivals) that OSU is his top school.

Honestly he looks to me at least close to Eason as a passer. Reminds me a hell of a lot of Jameis Winston, just hopefully with a better head on his shoulders. Crazy good prospect.

Amazing thing about this class is that the top dual threat QBs are all pass first guys (Malik, Haskins, and Pass). It's why I would take them all before Eason probably.

I'll take whoever is least likely to decommit.
Or all of them. hahaha A man can dream.

But seriously, I do hope the staff makes sure whoever wants on board is going to be completely locked in. Honestly, I don't trust any kid especially a top ranked QB who will be recruited until the end of his life.

Damn OSU leads for Hawkins
Top 2 for Pass
Leader for Henry

I kind of like this development. OSU can't take all three, 1 of them might verbal to OSU before the New Year, and all three are showing some desire (to varying degrees) to at least play in the Midwest and visit Notre Dame.
