I've been wondering what we were gonna do here. Brindza is on his final tour, Newsome seems to me as more of a punter specialist, and if we can grab this kid we should be in great shape with not having to depend on one guy for all the kicking jobs.

if the staff felt he was worth an offer i'm ok with it...never mad about having good kickers on the roster and i'm not stoked about having a guy do both like we've tried recently...forces us to be mediocre at 2 positions instead of good at both, not that Kyle is a mediocre kicker, but i think he's much better when he gets to concentrate on just kicking

I dont think we would be punting very often from any reasonable FG distance. Inside the 40 you probably go for it a large portion of the time. Outside the 40 he has to have some serious leg to hit anything over 57.

He states that the ball explodes off his foot, and that he has a great quick and compact approach to FGs, and gets great height.

It really cannot be stressed enough how important it is to have a big time kid in at K. In all reality we need him, this does not in any way feel like it would be a luxery or a bonus. Would be a huge get!

Agreed, in the college game having a good FG kicker is rare and can be of great significance.
