I think it spells trouble that OSU is there and they aren't even pushing for him. They talk a lot, but they haven't put the pressure on him yet. Once they officially strike out on Gibson, they could go after Waller and probably get him regardless of what his situation is at the time.

There is a chance that they simply settle for Burrow if they don't get Gibson, but we all know it wouldn't be ND recruiting if there aren't all of the obstacles.

Now he is going to Ohio St.?? I think some are just hoping he goes somewhere else, so they can be unhappy.

Lol I think Stendham is better overall but Wallers connections to ESB and him being less prepared to step in and play push it to Waller IMO. Stendham would be more of a flight risk with our depth.

This does not make me feel confident he will be at Alabama soon and not coming to ND until the end of the month. Then he will make a choice a week later I don't know about this. It would have been ideal to get him on campus for II.

I like when Notre Dame gets the last visit and the staff gets the final word

Random thoughts, grouped together, do not make complete sentences.

So you would rather have him visit two weeks before the decision then one week?

The more I watch his film the more I like him.

Can check down, has great touch, and his eyes are always down field. He makes about every throw on his film and is very fast.

I hope he's our QB since Blake's gone and Stidham loves love.

Yes, but I am just a fan I am not on the coaching staff they know what they are doing.

You'll never last here with that attitude. We all know more than the coaching staff. All except Koon that is.

This is kinda where I'm at. Pretty crazy to think OSU made his top-4 without even so much as a non-actionable offer.

My take... maybe Waller gave Bama enough confidence to pass on Dormandy. I was expecting Dormandy to commit yesterday to UA. Now he is at UT. Still... I don't think Waller would fit our system as a full time QB. Would still be a little surprised if Waller does choose my Tide.

Agreed. I think the fact that he is a west coast kid plays in your favor though, he may not be prepared for just how big of a deal Alabama football is, and he'll get swept up in the moment.

Either way, you are about to get 11 to 13 more wins with Coker, so no sweat!

Is this common consensus amongst Tide fans? That a kid couldn't possible choose UT over playing for UA, so he must have been passed on? Interesting take. I agree wholeheartedly with the latter part of this post- Waller would NOT be a fit for full-time QB duties.

We will see on Coker. A lot of hype for someone who hasn't played very much.

Those that follow recruiting fairly close were expecting a Dormandy commit yesterday - including me. The average fan who doesn't follow recruiting would not believe someone could choose UT over Bama however.

So you're thinking the most likely scenario here is that UA thinks they could land Waller if they wanted to at this point?

that top four tells me that we trail by quite a bit, considering we hadn't even offered until less than a week ago.

Alabama does not land any QB they want. The Alabama fan just posted they are probably going to lose the QB they wanted to Tenn. IMO, They get any RB, LB, DE, DT they want, and do a great job everywhere else except QB, where they look like all the other top schools.

I don't think we trail. NW is NW. And he was not the first choice of Ala. or OSU either. We are right in it. I bet we lead.

Aspiring high school quarterbacks are attending retreat camps run by passing gurus such as Steve Clarkson. I wonder if their expert tutelage extends beyond the mechanics of throwing a football, and that their influential advise includes the choice of a college program that fits their students skill sets, academic personality, and NFL aspirations. Most recently, Travis Waller attended a Clarkson camp at the end of May, along with Brady White, K J Costello, and Shea Patterson. I just now have read Waller's announcement of his final four. It was a tweet from @TrendsettersWW(worldwide). The Dreammaker himself, Steve Clarkson, recently created that moniker for his athletes achieving goals organization.

I think UA can land pretty much anyone they want.

I would agree with this for just about position on defense, O-line, and RB. But QB? They've had their share of talent for sure, but it's been much more of a challenge from what I've seen.
