He doesn't have too many offers as this point. OSU, Bama, and USC are all wait and see mode so he can't commit to those schools. NW is really the only other option at this point. I highly doubt he is going to commit to NW without at least visiting ND in June like previously discussed.
That's what I was trying to say (inartfully); that a wait-and-see offer is no longer wait-and-see and he's willing to pull the trigger on that because he has been in contact with the wait-and-see school much longer than with ND.
As to why he wouldn't wait? In the case of ND or any previously wait-and-see candidates he might want to jump on his spot before it's gone.
Basically, it seems like ND would have the weakest relationship with him and their entrance into the game may have changed how another school views him.
As to his lack of visits to these schools: that's news to me. He may have taken unreported visits to any place excelt ND since he hasn't had time to check out South Bend.
OTOOH, he may be pulling the trigger publicly with ND (even if the staff isn't ready to count him in yet) to scare off the other QBs from beating him to the punch.
EDIT: and maybe, hopefully ESB is giving him a sales pitch.
