Honestly, I'm more excited about this than I was Barnett... I guess past of me had been waiting for BB's flip for a long while... now that it's over I'm ready to get a high rated QB that wants to be here...

Excited to see where this goes.

I'm inclined to favor the combo over Barnett because a) Waller isn't that much of a step down, IMO and b) St. Brown on the same offense as Brent, Robinson, etc gives us a physical mismatch over just about any bunch of CBs in the country.

Waller and ESB deciding to pair up would definitely take the sting off. But nothing works that well for ND haha.

While I want to remain positive and move forward. Barnett was on track to bring any and all of the WR's that we wanted already. St. Brown was visiting with very sincere interst. Ofodile seemed to be leaning ND's way. My point is we were going to have a badass WR haul with Barnett as well.

Would probably rather have White->Stidham---->Jones->Waller unless Waller has made great leaps throwing the football from the film that is currently out there. He has a weird motion and doesn't appear to have a great arm.

Has anyone seen Waller throw at an Elite 11, etc?

Seen Carlyle that next day walking on campus, arm in a sling, after my cousin's kid got baptized at the log church on campus. He seemed like a super nice guy, especially with our large, hyper family talking his ear off.

He's got a Tebow-like release. He sort of pulls it back before he throws it. Fixable IMO.

Wasn't aware we were in that good of shape with ESB, but you very well could be right. Just seemed like we were trending away on Newsome and ESB lately.

A couple Scout articles have said he has improved greatly and looked very good. Biggins actually compared Waller and Barnett a while ago saying they might have the most upside. Stated his release can be fixed but everything else is very good. At the Elite 11 camp with Dilfer he was only behind White.

Not saying he's better than Blake because I don't think he is, but Blake had that wind up motion, and I think Waller's is a bit better than his.

He does, but bare in mind that these kids will get much stronger. Go back and watch Malik his junior year and that summer during camps. Then compare that to his arm during this years spring game. Night and day difference.

Nation's No. 2 Dual QB Travis Waller Talks ND Offer

"I talked to the head coach Brian Kelly, the recruiting coordinator and the quarterbacks coach," Waller said. "They told me I fit their offense. They said I've been on their board since November, even though Blake (Barnett) committed early. I was a guy they knew about and have been watching for awhile."

Plans on visiting ND and OSU this month. Also wants to visit Auburn and Alabama.

Northwestern, Bama, and ND are his high interest schools. Wants to decide in July

Hasn't heard from Oregon recently. Thinks Barnett is headed there
Hasn't heard from USC recently.
Auburn his evaluating him still as the next Newton/Marshall
