I said this before in this thread but I don't see the draw to Oregon without Chip Kelly. Their new coach doesn't seem to have the same it factor. He's lucky Mariotta came back. They underachieved with him last year. They would have been a four loss team without him this year.

I don't think any of those types would come here, would they? They are willing to get their hands dirty, but are they willing to keep kids eligible at an academically challenging school? Are they willing to do the things necessary to keep everyone in line at a small Catholic school? Would the administration even consider someone that has had experience toeing the line?

What i dont understand is how this guy is just "all in" and just 100% notre dame and all that shit and then does a 180. Seeing these big names just drop ND suddenly is why i dont hardly read any recruiting stuff anymore. Not to mention Vanderdoes too.

You don't have to necessarily "descend" in those ways for more aggressive recruiting. You can take the arrogant "we're better than those guys" approach.

I agree, this is frustrating but I still want ND to be the same school that I have always loved. Blake is one of my favorite qbs that we have recruited but oh well. Also recruiting can be frustrating, but it is a lot of fun to follow. We get to know the kids and it is really interesting. I will keep following it.

I'm kind of over the California recruits at this point. They either come in cocky and probably don't live up to the hype, or they leave early, or they don't come at all. Lets stick to Texas, the South, and the Midwest.

Can't fault him really. Golson and Zaire are fighting for the starting spot and both have good eligibility left. Kizer is coming in and will have a leg up as far as playbook knowledge. Committing in the first place seems like a lost cause unless you're willing to sit the bench here for a few years at least. At Oregon he could end up as a starter in a year or two once Mariotta is out. Not to mention Oregon isn't all the way across the country.

Recruiting is never over until their name is on the dotted line. We need to stay on these kids like they are not committed. Especially those from Cali and Florida. Maybe we don't do a good job of recruiting after the verbal. Who knows. I do have a feeling the staff said you are either committed or not committed and pulled his scholly offer.
