Agreed. I think Elijah Hood really made a mistake. He'll likely be a really good RB no matter what but he would've had an absolute beast of a line developing in front of him for 4 years.

Nearly as shocking as the # of 12-year-olds on XBox Live who claim to have had sex with my mother.

It truly is embarrassing getting beat on line over and over again and hearing some little punk talk shits. #experiece

Freak Notre Dame Recruit Quenton Nelson Destroys Two Boards with One Punch | Bleacher Report

<script height="354px" width="630px" src="http://player.ooyala.com/iframe.js#pbid=MDYzZmYzZjIwNTA0YjI4Y2YyM2JmNTgw&ec=N0NHQ0bjonA51VO19ZpTE1u0fYoWk_AP"></script>

Offensive tackle Quenton Nelson is at it again. This time, the 4-star recruit broke two boards with one punch in taekwondo class.

If you don't remember, Nelson is the Notre Dame signee that outbenched some of the top players in this year's NFL draft.

Nelson will enter his freshman year in South Bend in a few weeks, and his summer workout routine is in full swing. According to Nelson and his sensei, Kyong Hoon Kim, taekwondo improves his hand fighting technique—a skill that any top offensive tackle needs to excel at.

Taekwondo is just one aspect of Nelson's workout regimen. The 6'5", 295-pound freak athlete played on Red Bank Catholic's basketball team and participates in a cross-training program called Rypt.

He also does a more traditional strength and conditioning program with Joe McAuliffe, who has trained many NFL players, including Knowshon Moreno of the Miami Dolphins.

Look for Nelson and his incredible athletic skill on the field for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish next season.

So excited to see this kid in blue and gold. He's doing everything he can to be great.

This kid is ridiculous. Is he really not going to see the field this year?

The kid is a stud but the O-Line class before him was even more loaded with freakish OL talent and because of that I don't see him getting ant PT.

Not to be a downer... But what he did in the video is not very tough. Pretty much anyone could do it. But the dude is huge

Yeah...We had the entire sales team (including women) do this at a national Sales meeting. I will say that we only did one board though and I'm not signing up for him to punch me anytime soon.

Two is more than twice as hard as one, and it is harder when the boards are held by humans as opposed to clamped in place.

If they are nailed and that short, they may break your hand.

The only way hand held is easier is if the holder accelerates them toward the fist and then pushes to "bend" them. Or so I am told.

It all depends on what kind of wood it is, how dry it is, how thick it is, and how its cut.

Maybe Longo needs to be educated on the benefits of Rex Quan Do:

Ready To Report: Quenton Nelson | Irish Sports Daily

Quenton Nelson’s strength went viral last month when the 2014 Notre Dame offensive line signee benched 225 pounds 26 times, more reps than several top prospects managed during the NFL Combine.
The 6-foot-5, 310-pounder from Holmdel, N.J., gave credit to Irish strength and conditioning coach Paul Longo’s workout program for helping him improve his strength, but Nelson also added that the workout plan didn’t quite call for his showing.
“After basketball season, I repped out and got 22,” Nelson said. “I’ve been working hard and following Coach Longo’s program. Benching 225 wasn’t exactly in the program, but the cameras were there and I just wanted to show off. Besides that, I’m strictly following Coach Longo’s program and it’s been helping me a lot with improving my strength and endurance.
“Coach Longo’s program is very different. It’s just an awesome workout. A lot of the workouts I’m doing are for endurance so during a game, when I’m tired, I’ll still be able to drive the defensive linemen and not be tired.”
Nelson said he “can’t wait” to report to Notre Dame, which he’ll do on June 14th.
“I think just being on the campus and being a student-athlete there should be fun,” he said. “I can’t wait to meet everyone in my class and play football with my brothers.”
He knows balancing school with football will be one of the biggest challenges.
“Academically, I’m going have to be able to manage my time a lot better with football, training and school,” he said. “That’ll be a little adjustment for me.”
Irish offensive line coach Harry Hiestand has given Nelson an indication of what to expect when he gets on the field.
“I think I’m going to come in and be taking reps at left guard,” said Nelson. “I’m not completely sure, either left guard or right tackle, but I think Coach Hiestand made it clear I’m coming in at left guard.”
He’s looking forward to continuing to grow as an athlete in South Bend.
“I’d like to play right away, but the goal for me is just to improve in everything; improve my body fat percentage, improve my technique with Coach Hiestand, improve my quickness and strength with Coach Longo,” he said.
Nelson received a lot of attention for his feats of strength, but he knows he has plenty of room to grow.
“Strength is just a little part of football. What I need to improve on is my technique and I can’t wait to be coached by Coach Hiestand because he’s going to make me into the best player I can be. I’m also excited to reach my potential and work hard every day.”

This has honestly been one of the biggest improvements I've noticed over the Weis years. Our team does not seem to get tired like they used to.
