Its been taken care of. Gwen Stacy won't be a problem.

I never saw the second movie, but I might just to see how they deal with it, and because it is Emma Stone.

Still, nobody associates Gwen Stacy with Spider Man mythos, except as one of the major casualties of his lifelong war against crime.

But most people just associate him and MJ.

Still, Emma is a better actress than Kirsten, although I find it hilarious that Emma dyed her hair blonde for the role, and Kirsten dyed hers red for her role.

Crazy Stupid Love was actually pretty awesome. My fiance asked me to watch it recently, and I figured I'd be sleeping or playing Clash of Clans on my phone the whole time... but I ended up laughing my ass off for most of the movie. Gosling was really good, but I would say it was more alongside Steve Carell than Emma Stone. He played a great womanizer/asshole to Carell's clueless and too-old bachelor.

Agreed.

As an ensemble film I loved it. Never would have thought Gosling could have done a comedy but he was pretty good, although the actual comedic talent obviously carried that movie (Emma and Carelll, obviously).

Not sure what people think about Fracture, but I mainly saw it because of Anthony Hopkins, before I even really knew about Gosling. I think it was a major departure from what people associate with Gosling as well, though he really does not venture outside his comfort zone too much, at least in the mainstream movies that he makes.

What?

That's crazy talk...

Damn near this entire thread is crazy talk, but Norton is a great actor.

Fight Club
The Illusionist
The Italian Job
Red Dragon
The Score (great flick)
American History X
Rounders
Primal Fear
Moonrise Kingdom

Get up on outta here with that Malarky...

And Hoffman was the Rainman and banged Mrs Robinson... that alone makes him an all time great.

Norton is another fantastic actor with amazing range. Good call Wooly.

Morgan is one of the best actors of all time and certainly several levels above Leo, who pretty much plays either a pretty boy, an asshole or an asshole pretty boy in nearly every role from The Beach (which was actually VERY bad), Titanic, Catch Me If You Can, Blood Diamond, Gatsby, Django Unchained to Wolf on Wall Street. He may be passionate but he only plays a variation of one role in every movie.

I don't know how you can logically argue Morgan over Leo based on 'variation' when Leo clearly has proven he has more. Hell, you were making fun of Leo and you listed different roles that he's played that are more variable than Morgans entire career, which is talk in the same tone every moment of your job, appear emotionally stable at all times (aka, don't act), and smile when appropriate.

Morgan over Leo is insulting to me. I am livid!

Oh the shame:
Joe Clark:[Clark's roof-top pep-talk to Thomas Sams] Now let me tell you something: The trouble with being a teenager is you don't know nothing. The problem with teenagers is you think you're smarter than people who already been down the road you're traveling. You know what I'm tryin' to say to you, boy? DO YOU?
Thomas Sams: Yes, sir.
Joe Clark: Did you tell your father I threw out of school?
[Sams, with his head down, doesn't answer]
Joe Clark: [picks Sams' head up; yells] Look at me DAMNIT!
Thomas Sams: [sobs] No, sir.
Joe Clark: Why not? No guts, huh? Afraid of what he's gonna say to you, aren't ya?
Thomas Sams: My father doesn't live with us anymore, sir.
Joe Clark: Oh, is that you're doing right now? Going around, feeling sorry for yourself, boy? Huh? Go on. Get outta here! You're wasting my time!
Thomas Sams: [crying] Please let me back in, sir. I have to get back to school. I can't go home and tell my mama I got kick out of school.
Joe Clark: Now why should I let you back into my school, Sams?
Thomas Sams: 'Cause I'm gonna do better, sir.
Joe Clark: How?
Thomas Sams: By doin' my work.
Joe Clark: What else?
Thomas Sams: And stayin' out of trouble.
Joe Clark: What have you been thinking about all this time? Why should I believe you now?
Thomas Sams: 'Cause I've changed my ways.
Joe Clark: I don't believe you, Sams. I don't think you changed a thing. Go on, jump!
Thomas Sams: [sobs] No, I don't wanna jump!
Joe Clark: Yes, you do! You smoke crack, don't ya? You smoke crack, don't ya? LOOK AT ME, BOY! Don't you smoke crack?
Thomas Sams: Y-yes, sir.
Joe Clark: You know what that does to you? Huh?
Thomas Sams: No, sir.
Joe Clark: [taps Sams' head with his finger] It kill your brain cells, son. It kill your brain cells! Now when you're destroying your brain cells, your doing the same thing as killing yourself. You just doing it slower! Now, I say, if wanna kill yourself, don't fuck around with it. Go on and do it expeditiously! Now go on and jump! JUMP!

Joe Clark disagrees with you.

Invictus
Glory
Driving Miss Daisy
Lean on Me
Street Smart
Million Dollar Baby
Se7en
Unforgiven

Let alone all of his voice work
Shawshank.......

I read your comment in Morgan Friedman's voice in my head. It sounded amazing.

Speaking of one trick ponys lets talk about how overrated Ryan Gosling is.....dude has one range and thats the " hipster mysterious guy"

Ryan Gosling is apparently the biggest pantie dropper out there today, so he doesn't need acting skills. I don't think he's that great, but I also have a Y chromosome.

I find that once an actor/actress opens their pie-hole and tells us what they think on political or world events...I lose interest in going to their movies. I wish they would just keep their traps shut and act. Like playing a role makes their opinions (on either side) matter. Additionally, America's obsession with who a movie star is marrying this week really annoy's me. it's just the onramp of the expressway of divorce. Sorry for the side bar.

^

I tend to do this also... "You're a freakin actor living in one of the most disconnected communities on the planet... stfu and just act already."

and yeah, I've def stopped going to a few actors' films b/c of this.

Yes. Ronald Reagan should have kept his opinions to himself :)

Now that I think about it, not sure if it was posted yet, but I thought No Country For Old Men was terribly overrated. Too many plot holes for it to work for me.

I haven't really enjoyed any recent best picture film to THAT degree... except for maybe No Country... but yeah, even that was kind of "really, that's the best they got"

Morgan Freeman is the tortoise.

Leonardo DiCaprio is the hare.

Slow and steady wins the race for appreciating the value of Mr. Freeman.

The guy exudes wisdom and class.

With The Departed, I finally learned to appreciate DiCaprio, but he doesn't exude class.

He always seems to be trying to prove himself in most of his roles, like he's never truly satisfied with his work and has a chip on his shoulder.

Ultimately, we are drawn to characteristics that we values in ourselves and/or in others...

hence, the great American typecast.

(In my mind, experienced wisdom trumps youthful fearlessness, so 90% of the time, I'm going with a Morgan Freeman and a Tommy Lee Jones over a Leonardo DiCaprio and a Matt Damon as roles that tend to speak to me...)

Did you guys SEE The Wolf of Wall Street?

Leo is the best actor I've ever seen. I haven't felt this strongly about an IE argument in a long time.

Biting my tongue from here on out all things Leo related.

Leo is GOAT.

Some good points, although we're on a site that obsesses about which school some high school kid is going to choose to play football at. I'm sure the chicks that are on US Weekly's website think we are nuts.

No, but I have little doubt that he nailed the role. Dude is accomplished at complex sinister.

As for purely likable characters.... nothing comes to mind, at least not immediately.

So... GOAT? That's a far stretch....

Leo is GOAT.

The best actor of all time begins with a D and ends with an aniel Day-Lewis.

Leo is the man, no doubt, and by the end of his career he might have a claim to the throne, but he's got work to do.

Ludicrous. This thread needs a poll.

Or a new thread.

I stand by what I said, Leo isn't even close to GOAT.

My bias: dude annoys me to no-end in most of his roles.

I did like The Departed, Inception, Gangs of New York, What's Eating Gilbert Grape...

But let's not act like he doesn't have garbage movies.

For real. I don't get the love.

Also, I submit that if,
Leo is the best actor I've ever seen

then you haven't seen many actors.

Ok, let's take this to another level.

Reigning champion of overrated movies, children's division: Frozen

I have three small daughters and have seen all of the Disney stuff, and frozen is just hot garbage. How that thing makes a dime is beyond me.

Don't confuse it for most Pixar films, but Frozen is not what I'd call hot garbage.

I know it's not. I suppose I should have been more clear. Don't confuse it with a Pixar film (since most are brilliant) because it isn't, but it's still a good and enjoyable film.
