This interview was kinda funny.

Yeah, it was pretty dumb, IMO (I don't watch a lot of these, so I don't know if it was par for the course or not). You could tell her questions are really these lame ways of trying to discern where this kid wants to go to school. "What teams do you play on NCAA?" "Which coach's wife is the best baker?"

He should have told them some shit like," I only play Coffeyville Community College on NCAA because they're my dream school." The aTm answer was pretty good, tho'.

So... have you read The Grapes of Wrath yet? You haven't.
Well, can you still share your general thoughts on the Great Depression?
What kinds of foods would you struggle to go without?
I see... So... if you had to go with a favorite color, purple or yellow?
And do you like squash? Butternut squash bread in autumn. That's amazing.

Well, maybe it's like Casy says. A fellow ain't got a soul of his own, just little piece of a big soul, the one big soul that belongs to everybody, then. . . Then it don't matter. I'll be all around in the dark - I'll be everywhere. Wherever you can look - wherever there's a fight, so hungry people can eat, I'll be there. Wherever there's a cop beatin' up a guy, I'll be there. I'll be in the way guys yell when they're mad. I'll be in the way kids laugh when they're hungry and they know supper's ready, and when the people are eatin' the stuff they raise and livin' in the houses they build - I'll be there, too.

ONE KEY thing said in that interview:

1. are you looking around? no im pretty committed BUT will take official visits...tbd once he talks w/ his family

HOWEVER, that has got to be one of the weirdest interviews i have watched next to the one from last year when it was like the movie super troopers...anyone else remember what im talking about?

Seems like a lot of aimless speculation and there's a quick tell.

Does anyone know his chest size?

You're not solid if you're taking official visits elsewhere. Not saying he won't end up Irish, but for me, he's far from solid. Hoge is he definition of solid. With Tillery, in my view we have a nice lead, but really, we have to recruit him so hard, I'd hardly call him solid IMHO.

This.

Definitely agree with this. It seems like he's really just starting to get into the process of things. In my view, the verbal commitment, especially this early in the game, whether explicitly qualified or unqualified, is more like a response card that says "definite interest". I do think he is a kid that we have a great shot to bring home in the end. Seems like his own person and intelligent - 2 strong traits to keep him out of tiger stripes.

Sounds to me like he might have taken the ND insurance policy......commit to ND just in case you get hurt before college b/c every other SEC school would yank your scholarship in a minute.

They cut off the last part of that video:

So, you like baked goods? How about these sweater muffins? You can have a taste if you'll let me get the scoop on an LSU flip

Any truth to the rumors he slept in an LSU t-shirt last night?

Sounds like he's either liquid or gas.

Honestly, he doesn't seem like that type of kid. In everything I've read/seen he comes off as a smart, thoughtful, academically-inclined young man who'd be going to a good college regardless of football.
Now, maybe he jumped to commit to Notre Dame before he thought through issues like distance. Maybe he lets himself get wowed by SEC glitz or swayed by friends. But I still like our chances here. We need to keep on him. But that'd be true of any elite recruit from the Deep South. There's reasons we land so few, but they tend to be worth it.

Size-Strength-Athleticism
A big towering tackle prospect. Excellent height with good amount of bulk packed on his frame which he looks to carry well. Displays good strength for size with good hip and ankle flexion and overall a fairly good athlete for his size.
Pass Protection
Natural size can present a tough obstacle to work around. Displays good initial quickness and flashes adequate kick-step but needs to continue to work on deep-set ability. Displays enough balance and lateral mobility to keep defenders in front of him when he can get locked on. Does need to improve punch and placement. Flashes active with hands, but doesn't display an overly powerful punch and can lean when going for contact. Can struggle to keep technique against speed off edge and quickly open up. Big body that can slow rushers, but can set too high and be vulnerable to give ground versus speed-to-power moves.
Run Blocking
Big body that can engulf defenders, but needs to watch pad level as he can play high and doesn't deliver much of an initial pop on contact. Hand placement needs to improve and can set into defenders and is more a positional blocker at this stage that doesn't consistently create the push he is physically capable of. Flashes good pull/trap ability for size and can be effective second-level blocker with good angles.
Toughness
Looks to give good effort to get job done, but not a real tenacious blocker and would like to see him combine his natural ability with little more nastiness and physicality.
Bottom Line
Tillery is an interesting prospect. A big tackle prospect with some very good physical tools. Little raw in areas and needs to keep developing but possesses enough ability to be a good effective player, but if he can continue to improve and add a little more edge to his game has the upside to be a very good college OT.
Junior Eval
STRENGTHS: Displays very good playing strength on a long-armed, tapered frame that appears capable of supporting additional weight. Good hip and ankle flexion along with body balance and athletic ability. Good recognition skills while flashing first-step quickness. ... AREAS OF IMPROVEMENT: Needs to play with more physicality and a better finishing attitude. Run block and pass protections technique need further development. ... BOTTOM LINE: Tillery is a versatile player on the offensive line. He is raw in some areas but shows good upside with a nice frame to develop.

Am I relieved. When I saw his thread updated, I was afraid someone saw him in an LSU t-shirt again.
