From time to time, 2015 Notre Dame offensive line commit Tristen Hoge will be providing Irish Sports Daily with his thoughts as he prepares for the start of his collegiate career. We’ve entitled the Idaho stud’s reports as Irish Spud Notes. You can check out Hoge’s earlier entries here and here.
This week, Hoge previews his upcoming return to South Bend and lets you in on a new family purchase, which is just the latest illustration of the commitment Hoge and his family have to Notre Dame.
Dear Irish Nation,
I have yet another fine opportunity to share the things going on in the past couple of months.
We’ve had a fantastic spring break in Negril, Jamaica. It felt good to have a little time off.
Now a week later, I’m back in the saddle of things.
Workouts are going great and I am on a downhill slope to the summer and NFTC, Notre Dame’s camp, and hopes for an invite to The Opening.
My family and I are headed back to South Bend this weekend for the spring game and we couldn’t be more excited. Upon that, we will be visiting the new house that we have purchased.
School is going great and I’m on the downward slope there as well to the end of the year. Only one more trimester after this and I will be on to becoming Irish.
Thanks again for letting me share these past couple months Irish Nation.
GO IRISH,
Tristen Hoge

Was just going to post this, thanks PANDFAN. It's from ISD's "spud notes." Does that mean his parents bought a house in the Bend, or is it rather they just bought a new house somewhere else?

Bought a house in South Bend. Not worried about his commitment at all.

This is awesome. I rarely say "not worried" about a commitment but Tristen should be a lynchpin in this recruiting class. Hopefully he keeps Tillery solid and we'll continue to see the Hiestand Miracle in South Bend.

Hopefully, Tristan's mother is a great cook. She could have a lot of hungry offensive lineman hanging around the house. Does anyone else remember how Braxton Cave's mother used to feed the offensive linemen? The food bill is going way up at the Hoge household.

They can definitely afford it.

Probably missed it somewhere here, but is it well known that the Hoge family is loaded?

Between Merril Hoge being his uncle and seeing the truck with custom tailgate wrap that Tristen has...I would assume some money in the family.

When I talked to Tristen's dad the Friday before the SC game, he told me they were looking at houses and condos close to campus. That's when I knew they had money lol

The Clausen's did a similar thing when Jimmy committed to ND and then they sold it after he left if my memory serves me.

Wow... Mustipher grew? Or the perspective in the photo is off. He measured in shorter than his listed 6'4" at the AA game but looks every bit of it in that photo.

See, this is one of those photos. I hate to start it, but Hoge is listed as 6'4" isn't he? And doesn't he look to be the shortest in the photo? Would the camera being closer to Mustipher really make that much of a difference?

Harry knows what he is doing.

Yes sir, he does; reps!
