A tidbit from TJ.

I wouldn't put Taylor on commit watch. It's possible, I suppose, but unlikely at this time. The key here is further differentiation and some possible distance from the MSUs and Tennessees of the equation.

Care to decipher that for me?

Four Schools Battling For Four-Star Elijah Taylor

Staying over tonight. He will take the ACT in South Bend tomorrow and then attend the Spring Game.

He is visiting OSU on Monday and stay overnight. He also has visits to Tennessee and Michigan State "on the radar"

His high school coach said that if he wants to go to OSU that he will commit quickly. He doesn't feel the need to commit to another school as quickly, apparently. I assume that has to do with where he feels he is on the OSU board compared to other schools.

Sounds like the classic "We only have 1 spot at your position, so if you want on board you better do it quick" pressure recruiting tactic. Glad he is staying overnight, but with the ACT in the morning that kinda dampens the experience of being on campus overnight. Let's just hope he falls in love at the spring game.

I've read some stuff recently that has made me think this recruitment is going to be tougher than I originally expected. Apparently the OSU offer was a big deal, some say a bigger deal to him than when we offered. Also, Tenn. has made a very strong impression here. I trust the guys at ISD that he is on commit watch but count me as cautiously optimistic.

Or that he really prefers OSU. I guess we'll know after this weekend.

I must be missing something. If the staff wants him I'm on board, but his tape is okay.

Not sure how your framing where he'll be playing but he's a 1 tech in our new system. Think Jarron Jones. He's not going to be the primary pass rushing DT. With that in mind and his program fit. I'd love to add him.

So, Taylor and Hilliard were on watch this weekend right? Couple this with the Cornell info and I take it this weekend did not go as expected?

Idk why they put Hilliard on committment watch, they were on crack IMO. But yeah, we didn't get many positives this weekend

From commitment watch to foggy crystal ball predictions... Bummer.

This weekend will go down as very successful. Twelve members of the 2014 class and transfer Cody Riggs show up. Prentice McKinney wanted to pitch a tent, and Guyton back for a second visit in a month's time(these two Texas boys come from very good programs, and their enthusiasm for Notre Dame will prove to be beneficial). Elijah Taylor in for a second spring visit. 2015 Hog(e), and three hogs from the 2014 class seen together bonding. Short visits from Hilliard and Cornell. First time visits from Alex Ofodile and Peat. Then, there was a group of four or five visitors still looking for offers.

Per Wiltfong, he had a good time and said it was nice. He met with the players and asked them questions about life at ND. Visited Tennessee today and will visit OSU on Thursday. ND MSU Tennessee and OSU battle.

Thank you for the quick response, has Wiltfong given a reason on why he changed his CB?

Exactly. I still think ND leads of Hilliard, but whoever thought he was committing this weekend was definitely on something.

-Notre Dame's switch to the 4-3 defense gave Elijah a better feeling about Notre Dame. He says that the switch to the 4-3 gives him experience in learning the defense.

-Has a very strong relationship with Coach Elston and got to talk to Coach Kelly a bit during his visit for the spring game.

-He stayed over night for his visit and stayed with Malik Zaire. He also got to hang out with Elijah Shumate, Sheldon Day, and Pete Mokwuah.
