Also, FWIW, his timeline is interesting. Basically seems like after his season he put out his junior film and the offers rolled in from every big dog but Texas. Starting January 9th with Clemson (and ignoring teams I don't give a crap about for a second) he adds Baylor/Ohio State/A&M in a 3 day span, and then Stanford/ND/Oklahoma at the beginning of the next month and gets rated by 247.

So he basically blew up in the matter of weeks from being an unrecruited and unnoticed quantity. Kind of reminds of Hubbard and how he went from a lacrosse player dabbling in football at a powerhouse school to then overnight having an offer from virtually every school he asked his coach to send his film to.

My one reservation is that he is from Allen... plays with a top QB... has tons of exposure... and is still rated where he is. He's basically a consensus low 3:s: player despite the offers/exposure/production. Makes you wonder if there's something we're missing in a highlight tape.

Alright, I'll take the tinfoil hat off now.

Okay, so he got those numbers from a good QB. I believe he'll be playing with a good QB while at ND!

Am I just blowing smoke or is his HS quarterback throwing great balls? Also it looked like he has a great diversity of routes he can run too. His QB stood out to me though.

That's because his quarterback is Kyler Murray. Murray is the #5 QB according to Scout with offers from A&M, Clemson, Florida, Oregon, Auburn, Ohio State, Oklahoma, and Texas

L O Freaking L....

I don't feel so bad about my film skills now. Also I did not see the posts above by Lax and others.

You sandbagging SOB, you knew that.

I get a little bit of scouting momentum with the Bryant/Theo and Prentice Mckiney/Payton Hendrix comparisons and here you come to steal my thunder!

No I didn't. HONEST! I saw where he committed, watched his film for the first time last night. Did not read the thread from last night or this morning. Posted the above moments ago.... I honestly had no idea idea his QB was highly regarded, but he totally stood out in Jaylen's highlights.

Jalen is going to try and get Ryan Newsome to visit with him when he comes back for the Spring Game, per BGI. That would be great if he was able to bring him with.

I saw where Newsome tweeted Jalen congratulating him.

Newsome is a huge want for me. Perfect slot WR for Kelly's offense.

Late attention may have something to do with these statistics. During Allen's ten game regular season, Guyton had 20 catches for 416 yards and 2 touchdowns. During the six game Texas state title run, Guyton had 22 catches for 612 yards and 11 touchdowns. To give you an idea of the importance of Texas high school football, 54,000 attended Allen's 5A championship game with Pearland. The Allen Eagle Stadium holds 18,000, and it was built in 2012 at a cost of 60 million. With a capacity of 18,000, it is the fifth largest high school stadium in Texas.

This is truly some great info. You are one of the most interesting posters on this board, I never know what to expect when I open up a thread you've replied to.

Newsome's 24/7 profile lists him as an Oregon visitor on 4/12. We'll see.

I didn't, thanks for posting. He might be my biggest want for skill players in this class.

their stadium is closed now for a year or two because of cracked concrete or something right?

The stadium features 18,000 seats, 192 bathrooms

That's a lot of urinals.
