In addition to his relationship with BK, he is visiting ND for a week this summer. I'd say he is pretty strong.

if Bama dosent get a 5 star they can load up AJ McCarron/Greg McElroy types who dont mind waiting 2/3 years to play anyways.

This is going to be a tough one to hold on to regardless of what he is saying now. Get your popcorn ready folks. It's gonna be a dog fight.

Daily Jolt: Alabama trying to flip Notre Dame QB commit - Daily Jolt - SI.com

I agree it will be a fight, but that article shouldn't have you worry at all. He's not going to Alabama. He's too smart for that. ND and Alabama both are long distance, but ND has a better offense and way better academics for him. Only schools I worry about are out west.

My biggest concern is a girlfriend popping up. Stay single, Blake!

Besides, Blake has too much Irish on his walls.

It would be way to shitty to go somewhere else. Wouldn't it?

Not sure why a Bama story on the B-ham News website is supposed to make ND fans shit their pants about Barnett.

Unless, as Lax said,

Unless ND completely shits the bed this year or Kelly leaves.

Well, we can at least enjoy his highlights while we got him, haha. I don't think we have anything to worry about at this time.

Maybe irishglory is nervous because that article says that Barnett will likely take several visits?

Sure enough it says he will "likely" take visits. I seriously doubt that he'll visit any other schools though.

The sites have fully locked Barnett into the hype machine. Because he goes to so many camps which he should do and because he's so good they are interviewing him and asking the same question. Another article from J.Hopkins at 247 about Oregon and Bama still recruiting him. Both sites are really trying to stir the pot here with Barnett in order to get people to read. There have been literally several articles from both sites about this same topic. Lane Kiffin has been talking to Barnett and Coach Frost from Oregon. "I don't have a second favorite behind Notre Dame. Oregon and Alabama are both great schools, they each have a lot to offer. But I haven't really worried about the schools behind Notre Dame." Here's a quote from Barnett. Also, J. Hop would literally give blowies to all West coast schools if he could but Oregon would get first dibs.

No, it's what Lucky talked about above. A fishing expedition for slow season. Basically says he talks to Oregon once a month, and that Lane Kiffin called him a week ago or something, and that's basically it. Says the other schools are "great places" but that he wouldn't list anyone #2 behind Notre Dame. Talks about what he likes about them... because he was obviously prompted with a direct question asking him to list what's good about those schools.

You can just tell that the entire interview is nothing but asking him questions about Bama and Oregon and then the responses are phrased as best they can to give some intrigue. The copy surrounding the quotes is pretty funny.

He's going to be at ND barring an epic collapse on the field or Kelly leaving. The end.

You might want to put this in your signature, Lax. Even then, you'll still probably have to repeat this ~100 times before NSD 2015.

His responses are simply him being respectful. They REALLY had to stretch it to make it seem like there could be further intrigue but he's as signed and sealed as any recruit I can remember.

Agree with the others. We're way out front.

I think ND is prolly out in front with this recruitment as well...however, now is the time to put our collective foot on the throats of the competition; I think the coaching staff up till this point has done a great job with his recruitment, I think they will stay the course.

SantiagoHS is 15mins away from my house, I definitely plan on seeing at least 2 games of Blake's this year...One, when they play Corona Centennial(maybe even see a ND recruiter there), and the other when Santiago comes to play @Riverside King.

I don't know how they can put their foot on the throats of the competition, but you can bet your sweet bippy that BK and staff will stay in close and constant contact with him.

Access to the field after HS games is easy. After a game go down and congratulate him on his 40 year decision and then just walk away.

I work for a school district, so for the King game I could stand on the sidelines if I wanted to...But I don't plan on any contact with him at all, matter of fact, I would prolly avoid it if the situation came about.

This weekend, Blake, along with quarterback prospects Josh Rosen, Ricky Towns, and K.J. Costello(2016), will be at the Las Vegas 7 on 7 run by Flenory and Simmons. Irish targets at this event include Minkah Fitzpatrick, Malik Lovette, Isaiah Langley, Brandon Wimbush, and John Houston. Barnett's early commitment to Notre Dame can only pay dividends at such an event, sharing the stage with major prospects with Irish offers.

Many of the 7v7 teams are regional, and they have sponsors who pay for travel and accommodations. Last year, Snoop Dogg sponsored a team from southern California. It was disqualified for fighting. Fitzpatrick and Wimbush, teammates at St Peter's Prep, will play for the Bulls, a team with a few players from Texas. There is a Nevada team with four or five players from Bishop Gorman.

JC Shurburtt noted that Barnett has been impressive throwing the ball at the Vegas 7on, especially on roll outs. Says he thinks he'll be a great fit for what the Irish do on offense.

Probably the main reason Drue Tranquills recruitment took off.
