Spoke with my dad today who has been in the airline business since he was 18 yrs old and this was what he brought up. He also commented on the reliability of a 777 and that if there was a total decompression of the aircraft we would most definetly have already seen debris. The thing that he said stood out most was their altitude and actions once the aircraft was picked up on radar. Just so everyone is clear this is only a brief conversation between us, but to his credit he was the director of maintenance for Pan Am, Paige Avjet, Airtan, and now close to retirement runs the GSE department for Southwest. He is also considered an aging aircfaft specialist and consults for the FAA. All this and he truly said the only 3 things that might make sense is a "catastrophic event", a severe electrical failure (explains no radio contact) or someone attempted to take the plane. Just figured I'd share with you guys
