Nice to finally see him offered. From WI and I don't think he's even played a season for DLS yet correct??

Did very well against Bosco and Damien Mama in the state championship game. If I remember correctly I think he body slammed a running back in the game.

If his dad is the GM he probably says, "George, your son just wasn't a great RB and had bricks for hands."

GAIII got numerous chances to prove himself. He was a homerun or nothing guy. No vision. Did not always show up. Better RBs behind him. Started to lose playing time, but he got a fair shake by Kelly. Any GM worth a damn is going to see that.

I brought up the George Atkinson/McKenzie scenario as a "What do you think about ND for my son" type of question, not in the franchise drafting his son type of way.

Well his dad is pretty smart, he'll know to look into it more than just asking GA.

I realize he's not going to base his decision based on a conversation with George Atkinson, but if I know a guy, see him around at work sometimes, and his son(s) attend and play football at a college my son is considering doing the same thing, I'll probably have a few conversations with him.

I guess I wonder what George Atkinson thinks about ND?

Yeah so would I. But looking at the scenario, I would only take his opinion into serious consideration if he was very positive on the matter. Of course GA is going to be angry at ND, his sons aren't playing much, what parent would be happy with the program? Then take into account the fact that he's already publicly made statements about his sons and...well, it would lead me to not take his opinion without a very large grain of salt.

I thought he actually got more than a fair shake to prove himself.

Grew up cheering for ND. His best friend is a diehard ND fan. Likes the tradition, academics, players, etc. Definitely going to take a hard look at ND and will try and visit.

Well this seems positive. It sure can't hurt that he's rooted for us in the past.

Per Scout: He visited Duke recently and really liked it, they will be in it until the end (his sister goes to Duke). He has several visits lined up and wants to try to get ND in there. He plans to take all OVs, he wants to take his time and do the right thing.

For growing up a ND fan, you think he'd be more adimant about visiting, not just trying to get them in. At least that's my feeling when reading those comments.
