The Heggie award will be given to a random poster for no apparent reason just as Heggie was given a scholarship for no apparent reason. It should definitely be it's own award, separate from the Koyack.

If really wanting to rename this, it should be the Duval Kamara award. After his freshman year, some people thought he was going to be just as good as Samardzja. He just never could live up to the hype after the best freshman season ever for a receiver at the time.

The Bruce Heggie Award should be for the poster that brings literally nothing to the table, but everyone still loves them anyway.

Just the name "The Heggie" is solid gold, it must be used. I say replace the Koyack with it. Doesn't make much sense, since Koyack is very likely to achieve some measure of his potential this season. Heggie....was the ultimate sleeper! His fate has already been written in history books.

Kamara actually saw the field though, and he was instrumental in breaking the losing streak to USC his final season. He certainly didn't live up to the hype...but "The Heggie"....it just rolls off the tongue.

I think people expected that Koyack was never going to see the field as a starter at the rate he was going. He was highly recruited, top 10 at TE I think, but until the 2013 season he just never seemed to make much of an impact. When he did see the field he failed to make the most of it and was characterized with dropped passes and poor blocking. As a result Eifert, Niklas, and even Welch at times seemed to be ahead of him. As a result of his failure to live up to his recruitment analysis, he became a long standing IE meme/catchphrase regarding "potential."

In all seriousness though, with Niklas gone I think he'll make the most of this chance. He showed great signs of improvement over the year. Smythe breathing down his neck will give him extra motivation as well.

I agree...which is why I'm petitioning to change this to the Heggie Heggie's story is already written in the history books and cannot be altered at this point. A legend to live for the ages.
