That video got me pumped for this season. Our offense should be a force

Yep me too. If we could only see that whole highlight tape in one game, that would be awesome. Kidding! Well kind of. Don't get me wrong, Golson did a great job for just being a red shirt freshman. I hope he will be much improved over 2012, though.

Continuing the trend of locker disorganization.

KELLY HAS LOST CONTROL OF THIS TEAM!!!

Sold his gold <strike>pants</strike> helmet

Job/parents.

You would be amazed at all the underground tattoo artists because of all the licensing, shop overhead, and general rules. Most times you can get them for next to nothing from somebody who you know that has a good set of equipment and can really do some art. I know a few people who came out with full sleeves for just under $100 (which is insanely cheap). They then used them to advertise via word of mouth.

My next door neighbor (who has no ink on him) owns 11 tattoo shops. Based on the exotic vacations, his property, and other things...tattoos must be very expensive.

Well there you go!

Going to look so weird seeing the #11 run for more than 2 yards from the line of scrimmage

Nice, I would agree with it. He seems pretty high on him! :)

could definitely see some PT this year and I see him being a stud by the time he leaves ND.

The Breakdown: Justin Brent | Irish Turning Point

It wasn't just the content, it was the layout too. Excellent job, and kudos to both of you!

After seeing his highlights I am so pumped, I feel like going out and finding a dunking donuts, and just laughing uncontrollably!

i thought #11 was gonna be retired

People at dunkin donuts were staring because I couldn't stop laughing. Bravo!

This is a great breakdown...very excited for this kid. ESPN just makes me laugh:

Scout – 64th Overall

247sports – 67th Overall

Rivals – 84th Overall

ESPN – 280th Overall

You know, Brian, I understand that. And I get frustrated with ESPN, too.

But your comment, and your post's content got me thinking.

Do you remember a recruit that was rated so low. That did camps and rose so high? Maybe ever? (Maybe ever in my limited vision, I cannot remember many.) The formula for Justin was small Indiana school, sign early with ND. Move position. Then do camps before senior year, and tear up. Maybe ESPN doesn't have the flexibility to move guys around the board.

I have been working on a hypothesis. I don't know if it is good yet. If you divide the best recruits coming out of high school, using 20/20 hindsight, regardless of ratings, and you divide them in groups, those that develop earlier and those that are later bloomers, what do you get? Are there some sites more predictive of the late bloomers? Where as others are only good with those that develop early?

When you think about it. Some kids with the attitude, and desire, and the athletic ability, just don't have the size or strength to make it to the elite plateau. But if they grow just one year later, let alone two, than the original high school super-stars, they could end up just as good, but show up later in their career. Maybe a numbers guy could figure a way to analyze the sites, but if this were true, I would suspect ESPN was better with the early guys and missed more of the late guys.

It would be good to see some retrospective data to show how well the different sites do. Rating athletes vs. performance 2-3 years later. I suspect that the ratings represent where the athlete is currently and not so much what their potential upside is. It's not perfect but it's all we really have. I've always wonder if the recruiting sites "cool" on those that commit early and don't do all of the heralded camps, visits, in-home's, etc.
I will apologize for the my continued "rant" on ESPN...I'm too sensitized to what I see as bias/hate from ESPN.

I think there usually is a lot of inertia with rankings, especially at the very top. The only time I can think of someone really coming out of nowhere was Chris Jones in 2013. 247 put him at 2, and I don't even think he started in the top 247.

I seem to remember Deontay Greenberry starting off as a 3 star and rising to a 5 star because he killed it at camps and the opening.

Yea. Probably the greatest climb I've ever seen.

Chris Jones had a pretty ridiculous jump though.

Chris Jones went from unranked to a 100 evaluation and no.2 in the country on 247. Greenberry's climb was excellent, but I think Jones crushed that. I do remember thinking Kelly was a genius watching Greenberry's ranking improve after he committed, but he never came close to top-5 nationally.

I have been working on a hypothesis.

Ha-I thought your hypothesis was much different than that. I assumed (yes, I know) that it was based on a mirror, LSD, 5-8 degrees of separation between people you know, and a dash of curmudgeon(ness).

I have feeling ND will run it on anybody in '14, FSU included.

Come September all will be good.

Edit: Sorry wrong thread

I really seem him coming in and contributing, especially starting off as a blocker and getting more passes as it goes on.

BK noted in his presser that Justin did a certain drill wrong because of screwing up his right and left...he then went on to say he ran into chris brown and took his head off...then said chris had to re-attach his head...so this guy is def put together for a wr

He's going to be a really, really strong WR and tough to tackle. Would have been a great safety too, IMO.
