At this point anything that doesn't lead to us playing against him is a win.

Yeah. that's a good point. He seems to be pretty talented and I'd much rather he was running it up the PAC-12's backside than ours.

Shurbutt CB'd him to Oregon.

he was on bill king last week and said if one school could get him to sway from usc it's oregon...he said they made a real push for him at end...not surprised

Let's hope he's playing the system and keeping everyone on their toes. just last week he was seen wearing Irish & Trojan gear.

I know that Juju is a great talent, a definite take, but with his recent decision to play offense, I wonder if the staff is more than happy with Quick. I think if he intends to play offense he becomes a little less of a priority for this team in general, and certainly less important if Quick comes on board. Just spit balling here.

For some crazy as fuck reason, I almost think all of this is a huge decoy so he can completely surprise and shock the "experts". With everything he has said, along with his closeness to Luatua, it just wouldn't make sense for him to distance himself so much from ND.

USC is the school everyone expects, so he shifts the focus to Oregon. If closeness to home truly mattered than Oregon wouldn't be in the picture.

IMO, this sums it up perfectly.

Just not sure how Oregon pushed to the top or near the top and Notre Dame is off the board.

I think Wiltfong and Loy missed this one badly. People on the west coast have been saying for some time Oregon was the biggest threat to SC and that ND was out of it.

What are they supposed to report when the kid keeps telling them he's legitimately interested in ND? He played the game, and a lot of people took it hook, line, and sinker.

I think everyone is just baffled by the idea that a kid who says religion is a big priority to him could possibly be so full of it.

I'm curious why we continue to take what these kids say as gospel regarding academics and religion when they continue to make decisions that completely contradict their words.

Manti T'eo was the exception, not the rule.

Not picking on you, but I'm amazed that many people hang on the words spoken by 17-18 yr old kids as "gospel".......its recruiting, some play the game, some don't, but there aren't many guarantees in this game.

I don't know, I read that the ND staff is telling him that they would like to use him at WR as a freshman, since he has the athletic ability to contribute immediately, but his future would always be at safety. If so, and if he is fine with that, I don't see any reason to cool on him. As we saw with Redfield this year, it takes a while to learn the safety position and he might struggle to get on the field early there anyway, so the WR-gradually-becoming-a-safety plan might be a nice way to get as much on-field time out of him as we can.

This might not be as true in the BVG defense. I read that Diaco asked quite a bit from his safeties in that scheme.
