It's brilliant, really. Simultaneously highlights ND's greatest advantages, filters out most of the bullshit that other programs seem to be focusing on, and ensures that Kelly's pitch stands out.

100% grad rate or 40% grad?

This is such a tough question... Let me think!

Meanwhile, we graduate 97% of our football players.

93% causian, 100% African-American

Is OU always so low?? That actually hurts a bit, my wife is a Sooner, my brother in law taught there, also an alum... I like Stoops a lot... really expected better.

Sorry if this is a dumb question but the grad rates, are those including both players that leave early for the NFL and players that can't cut it academically and just drop out? I'm so proud of ND's grad rate. That is an awesome achievement. But I imagine some schools could really sell to the recruits that the rason their grad rate is lower is because of all the players who leave for the NFL after their junior year. For players who care that much about going pro, that would be a good selling point. ND doesn't typically have too many guys leave early but in the last few years that hasn't been due to lack of opportunity. Guys like Manti, Nix, and Eifert chose to stay for their senior seasons. This year we have had a bit of bad luck with guys staying.

If someone is in good academic standing when they transfer or go to the NFL they don't count against you. I think our GSR is lower somewhat because it counts against you for that

CBs don't seem to put much stock in BKs visit. 2 CBs for Oklahoma today, none for ND. FWIW, the two are from a Bama and Badger reporter.

I don't put much stock into recent CB unless there's a deluge one way or the other. If ND or OU people start flipping to the other school I'd take notice.

Do we have a better than 50% chance to land Quick?

It does not count those that leave early for the league so it has no impact on these %'s.

Well then those other schools' grad rates are atrocious. If it counted the ones who leave early then I could see it being a little skewed. Does it count transfers to other schools or is it just straight up kids who do not graduate and never request transfer papers? That could go in ND's favor though too because it could show less players transfer from ND than other schools.

Quick's coach said during the meeting Quick was "big-eyed" as Kelly talked about the academics and the grad rate and life after football and what ND can do for you. The coach said that he thought all three schools (ND/OU/UCLA) were running even heading into the visit but now he doesn't know. Per Wiltfong.

Basically, it sounds like Kelly hit it out of the park on this visit.

I don't understand why everyone is so negative about our chances. This was his coach's comment after BK met with Michiah, his dad and his coach. From the sounds of his statement, he doesn't know if everyone is still even because BK's meeting went so well we might have pulled ahead. Michiah canceled his trip to UCLA and Stoops already had his in-home so its seems like things are trending toward us...or at worse 50/50.

I agree, I like our chances for a couple of these guys and if we get a couple it will be icing on the cake. We already have a top 10 class.

There are still a lot of top 100 impact recruits uncommitted.

ND is going to need both a Quick commit, and a lot of luck, in order to actually stay in the top 10.
