Burn, Penn State, burn.
The people I knew in the band at ND said that Penn St. fans were the nastiest of anywhere they ever went for a road game. I have no idea what their problem is.

Yeah, PSU/Mich/OSU... all really bad fans from my experiences. I don't know if you can pick a "worst." MSU aren't great either, so maybe it's a Big Ten thing. I remember being at the Horseshoe for a lacrosse game of all things prior to their spring football game... have never encountered more belligerent fans in my life, and this was for lacrosse and a football scrimmage. My parents have had lots of bad experiences with PSU fans going up to visit my brother, a lot of "friendly fire" in the stands. Maybe it just has to do with the high correlation between drinking and general belligerence.
On the other end of the spectrum, BYU/Oklahoma = pure class from my limited experiences.[/QUOTE]
I agree and would add Nebraska to the classy list. Unfortunately there is a direct correlation between "worst fans" and crowd noise. Only on rare occassions do we make enough noise to make an impact on the field.

Know it is not an ND update, but wondering if it talk about how strongly he is committed.
TV is reporting we could get an official if Larry Johnson isn't retained at Penn State. LJ may be headed to fill Vrabel's opening on the OSU staff. BVG and Elston are going to visit Holley this week.
Hmmmmmm.
If Johnson goes to OSU I would fully expect Holley to follow him there.

I just don't see anyway the kid ends up here.
Steve thinks there's a possibility OSU wouldn't want him.

Everyone around him is pushing him to PSU. Would love to get him but I don't see how.
I don't see it either, unless BVG makes an impact. One of his closest friends, Jay Hayes, wasn't able to convince him, so this seems unlikely.
I've never once found this kid to be genuinely interested in Notre Dame, mostly just lukewarm acknowledgement.
Not a knock, I just think this one has left the park, even if it isn't Penn State in the end.
-He visited on his own dime over the summer and many had us leading at one time.
-BVG and Elston have an in-home so there's at least an opportunity.
Now whether or not he actually comes here is a different story but some of your statements could be a little more accurate.
Was ND a finalist? Let's stop getting are hopes up.
