I'll tell you what, Dickerson was both criminally underrated and at a position of dire need. This is a HUGE blow.

This isn't super slimy, offering package deals and whatever has always been a thing that people do, and Mora is always going to push the envelope. And I'm lead to believe he's making a decision on legitimate factors that are important to him and you can't blame someone for that. Not nearly in the same universe as the bullshit he pulled with EV including recruitment after NSD, impermissible contact, and concocting a whole plan to get EV out of his LOI without any penalties... which he guaranteed to EVE would work, and then he followed through on it.

Either way, I fucking hate that guy and hope he eventually gets what's coming. I don't even know if he's a step up from Kiffin on the slimy scale. He gives zero shits about rules and hopefully he leaves for NFL/wherever sooner rather than later.

Finally, there is a serious case to be made for not recruiting Cali. About 80% of the prospects we gain commitments from in that state either flake out on campus, decommit, or bust.

^This. Absolutely. Having lived in California on and off throughout my life, it takes a very special kid AND family to go the Notre Dame route. You have to be about it in a way like no other, because you are sacrificing major comforts/familiarities that are unique to the West coast that can make the distance excruciating at times. It's more than just a business decision, you have to want it as your home.

This is recruiting, my friends. The ups and downs will NEVER end.

That's why my philosophy has evolved: you are only Notre Dame once you wear that helmet proudly. A verbal commitment means nothing. A signed letter of intent means nothing. A ND career of hard-fought battles on and off the field is the only thing that matters.

What can we expect, there has been a lot of negative baggage around us since the day after the National Championship to now. Too much for a lot to overcome??

We lost our D-Coor, lost Eddie V with some bad blood, academic suspensions, suspended another Cali kid before a bowl game and he bolts to the NFL, we have guys leaving early to the NFL and transferring (Some good things here too)---this leads to negative recruiting by all of these other coaches. It won't stop. We will lose more. Too bad.

So much fun positivity with Nyles last weekend. Hope we can get more to replace.

I'm very confident that this doesn't reek like the EV situation does...However, why not Cal or Stanford? were offers not extended his way from either of those schools...He's literally 20 mins from Palo Alto, and 41 mins from Berkeley...Meaning he could literally live at home if he wanted to. Both offer a good education and are even closer to home...only thing about cal is that they suck....
