GAIII needs to hang around, put on 25 lbs and be the fastest fullback in football. Just run into people really fast.

This will result in 3 more transfers. As well as, some bad recruiting talk in California--that we don't need.

Ga3, his bro, and jalen will all transfer IMO.

GA3 is just a sprinter who plays RB.

FIFY. "Athletes" stereotypically can jump, are agile, can catch, etc, exceptionally well. Atkinson has tremendous speed (though not tremendous acceleration) and a pretty solid side-step juke move. That's it.

Going to the NFL would be the choice if he knows that Folston and Bryant are going to keep carries away from him in 2014, and they will.

Agree with the acceleration comment. I've always thought that it takes him a while to get to full speed. Theo and TJ always looked faster to me, which I know they aren't.

So....no big losses then?

I should say that I don't want to lose players, but if anyone really doesn't want to be a part of the program, then don't let the door hit you on the way out. Good luck, but I'm not going to shed any tears.

GAIII is better than you guys give him credit for, I agree that he cannot cut on a dime like most other backs, but his stats speak for him and has gotten tougher this year. I could see him getting drafted in the later rounds. He could become a specialist, but I think he could be a 2nd or 3rd string RB in this league which means he could get enough carries to show them what he's got. Unless he goes to the Vikings. Vikings are loaded at RB.

The guy is one of the biggest backs we currently have, and he can't fight for extra yards. He tends to go down at first contact. He can't really catch the ball, he can't run between the tackles, and he's not elusive, just fast. He's dangerous if you get him out on the perimeter in space, but that's about it. He's a homerun threat, not an every down back. I think that's pretty realistic, I wouldn't give him too much credit.

Oh, and he and his father need to keep their mouths shut, because they're making themselves look bad.

He's not RB1 (or 2), but he can be a solid contributor and a dangerous situational back. Would rather have him back next year than not. But if he'd rather be elsewhere, that's OK too. We'll survive, and it's not like he hasn't had a chance to win the job.
As for the NFL, I think he runs too tall to survive there, but I thought the same of Ryan Grant and he turned out pretty well.

Don't you start comparing Ryan Grant to GA III! He was no Julius Jones, but I liked him as a back. I was happy he got a few years in Green Bay.

Jeff Demps is a smaller but faster/better version of GAIII. He is barely hanging around in the NFL. If you only have straight line speed, you are completely worthless. GAIII's lack of balance/vision/acceleration makes him a flat out poor RB by NFL standards.

His best bet if catching on as a special teamer and then transitioning to DB maybe.

I wouldn't blame him for leaving. I don't think his draft status will be helped with our logjam at RB next year. At the same time, I still want him on the team. He can be dangerous in a role where he's getting 5-8 carries a game and I think he could do some real damage as a change of pace, big play back next year with Golson back.

I am scared of him taking an nfl shot to the head when he stands straight up.

His pro potential is as great as it will ever be...which is probably never. Next year he'll be passed up in the backfield, doesn't help at all.

Kickoff returner, that is it...open space and turn the jets on. Too bad he can't get into open space...

Wish him the best.

Thank goodness. GAIII was not developing at all, and I have no reason to think that he would, had he stayed.

But as someone said, giving up a degree for a "shot" at the NFL, when you won't be able to make a roster anyway is just dumb.

What I really don't like it starts the off season on a negative note. Ok, the Win starts it on a positive note.

But, thanks To BK and the NFL rumors here goes the negatives on our program. And then, more and more and more transfers. YOu know that other programs use this against us.

I hear people say that all schools have transfers. But, do they have as many as us? Does any other schools lose more 4 and 5 star players? I don't care the reason, transfers are transfers. Lynch, Neal, Prestwood, Eddie, Gunner, Fergy, Welch, Hendrix, on and and on. That is a lot.

I hope the studs that came here last year, and the ones that will come in this year will really help bring some positives. Right now we need that after the transfers/BK NFL rumors/Diaco Loss/and o OC too.

Ok, time to hear some good stuff. Go Irish

His best runs were typically from the jet sweep where he had picked up some steam and had open space. His best bet in the pros is as a returner or possibly turning into a wide out.

He would never see the field in SF, especially with Boldin and Crabtree there. They have enough versatility with Kendall Hunter and LaMichael James that they would not need him as a backup RB or WR.

I do not think he gets drafted. His father has filled his head with delusions of grandeur. Too bad, because he probably would have made a killing in the business world had he stayed and gotten his degree.

The only teams that might give him a shot are NOT good teams, like maybe the Jags, or Raiders.

TOTALLY unlikely, though.
