Like I said I hope it's what you are saying and he isnt a hypocrite. I guess the negative I read into this is the "LOL this program" part. I would hope he understands this is any program.

Maybe he's ready for 2013 to be over with like us fans are. It's been quite a year. I think he stays myself, during his recruitment, the things he said about getting a degree made him out to be a... RKG! No really, he seemed to have a head on his shoulders...

I've always said that Tuitt would come back and make sure he graduated with his mom in his corner but after getting only a 2nd round draft pick projection I think this sealed the deal that he will be back.

Best Notre Dame Christmas gift.

Dunno... I always thought he'd be back (in fact I was pretty darn convinced of it) but recently I think things are trending towards him leaving. Just my opinion... keeping Elston is huge but I still think losing Diaco has an effect and his decent draft grade plus some other factors has this very much up in the air.

I think 2nd round is about where he was expected (after a somewhat disappointing junior season). So, in reality, a 2nd round grade could safely mean he'd go in rds 1-3. His size and versatility, I think, mean teams will surely want him (3-4 DE, 4-3 DT, 4-3 DE). His size, explosiveness, and production from last year are what would make him a 1st rounder.

I really hope he comes back and tears it up next year-- All-American and goes in the top 5, top 10.

So when we said he was overrated as a 1st rounder all season, we weren't as crazy as we were told lol.

Idk how you turn down a ND degree to go in the 2nd round when you're in his position, so for our season next year this has to be good news.

He's not turning down an ND degrees. He's putting it off. See: Jimmy Clausen.

If he had a repeat of last season, he would be a top 15 pick. We know what he's capable of, he just has to go do it. I think he stays IMO.

Just because the committee says that does not mean he won't go earlier or later. They've been very wrong before. Remember the horrible grade they gave Jake Locker? It was like a 4th rounder.

In their defense though, he's played a lot more like a 4th rounder than a 1st rounder! Ha

I don't agree. Sure, Diaco could have some effect on his decision, but I doubt he was aiming for the 2nd round. Next season, if healthy and loses some weight, he'll be a top 15 pick no question.

No doubt, but he was definitely a 1st round talent. He just ended up in a bad place IMO. Tuitt needs to lose weight, but I think he'd still go in the 1st. Hell, if he falls to the late 2nd I'm sure the Colts wouldn't mind picking him up.

I think the kid has a lot to think about here.

2nd Rd grade is something he can def work with. He has a chance to take advantage of his dream and get to the NFL and sign a contract that will set him up for life. We know what kind of talent he is when healthy, and what kind of kid he is. Tuitt has more than enough time between now and the combine to get into tip top, mind blowing shape for someone his size and get some of the testing drills mastered. He goes into Indy looking like a freak and runs a 4.8 or lower, all of a sudden he starts shooting back up those draft boards.

I really dont think theres any question in most peoples minds that if he does choose to come out, hes going to get taken in the 1st round assuming he just flat out blow ass at the combine and pro day. There are 6'6 315 guys, and then theres Stephon Tuitt. He can play the run and pass rush with anyone in the country. Clowney and Lynch probably pass rush better than him overall, but hes going to stop the run better than them. Id say the gap between their pass rushing and tuitt is smaller than their run D and Tuitt.

Obviously the other side is, he can comeback and play himself into a 1st rd grade next fall. But, is he going to play himself into that much higher of a draft pick? Thats the question that he needs to ask himself. I think with a healthy off-season he can play himself into a top 10 pick, but who is to say a great combine this year wont do that. Like I said earlier, 6'6 315 guys with his speed/strength/athleticism dont just grow on trees.

As a ND fan I hope he does comeback bc I think he might be the difference between a good bowl and a playoff appearance. But, if I was him, Id probably go if I thought I was healthy enough to get ready for that combine. If not, Id stick around, but the combine will make or break that draft grade. I mean Bruce Campbell went from an unknown to a top 10 pick just bc he blew up in Indy. Tuitt actually has talent haha.

Same here. His stock has fallen for sure, but he's still going to be a first round pick and a high one at that with a good combine. He needs to show up in the 300 lbs range and shows a good 10 yard split, bench press, vertical jump and broad jump, while doing well in position drills, he will find himself in the top 10. He has the production in 2012 in terms of sacks and tackles for loss, and he can play end in a 3-4 and 4-3 at around 300 lbs. Scouts will likely just characterize this year as him starting off slow due to the hernia he had that led to the weight gain and him needing to play himself into better shape. Like you, if I was him I wouldn't think twice and I would declare for the draft.

Probably couldn't have said it better myself...well, I probably could have...but it'd take some effort!

I don't see Tuitt coming back to ND until AFTER next season to finish his degree.

New York drivers can be really bad, so I find it humorous Tuitt thinks he'd fail. Last time I was at New York it seemed like all the cars were Benz's, BMW's, Audi's, etc...but I don't think there was one of them that was without a ding or two.

Tuitt is nothing but a smart man. He will live all his life with the money of his first contract even falling to the second round.
