So much for the uninspiring quotes from ISD (to be fair Christian clarified the interview was very early in the morning).

Maybe he didn't have his morning Mocha yet? I know that nobody wants to talk to me before my diet Mountain Dew....

Would much rather have McKenzie... or neither and just get Quick. Dunno... not enamored with Nelson but maybe that's just me.

Don't really see the need to have a 5'8" one dimensional player in this class.

You aren't really one dimensional when you can return kicks, punts and play slot WR IMO. I don't think I could ever be disappointed in a commit from a kid that runs a 10.5 100m, either.

I don't really know very much about Nelson so I can't say one way or the other. I am however, pulling for Isaiah because he is working his tail off and he wants to be here. That's aside from him just being a flat out electric football player!

Dunno either. I do know I'd love to have both Quick and IM. I think we find out about IM around the 20th. Just wondering what happens to IMs offer now. I know we'd take Quick regardless, but would we want all three? Haven't see a ton of Nelson's film, but what I did watch, didn't floor me. It does show he runs a 4.39 though.

Right now I'm with Philly. If I saw something in our playcalling this year that led me to believe a 5'8" slot receiver would thrive in our O, I'd be all for it. But even last year with Golson I didn't see much indicating we'll use a guy like this effectively.

We never throw over the middle of the field with Rees or Golson. But maybe Kelly "intends" to open the playbook up for Golson next year.

IF SOMEONE THROW A GOSH DARN DRAG ROUTE and I would be okay with it.

Toma got a decent amount of throws underneath in 2012....if he had been dynamic he would have been targeted more...but we utilized it and having a safety blanket as a playmaker is never a bad thing..although i want mac more

I have a hard time believing McKenzie runs anything under a 4.6 after watching his highlight tape.

I personally if we have to take one of them would much prefer Nelson. Kids got much better offers, is much faster, and isn't struggling to pass NCAA clearinghouse.

It was good but IMO Nelson showed more long term potential in his based on his speed.

And doesn't make plays.

If all you needed was speed, then we would just recruit track kids. McKenzie had a play making ability that is on an entirely different level than Nelson, imo.

McKenzie's lateral speed is much better and he is much quicker. Straight line speed only matters when you're breaking away and even then McKenzie has more than enough. McKenzie is an all around better recruit in terms of ability other than straight line speed.

Nelson doesn't make plays? What highlight tape did you watch?

I agree with you that if I had to choose, I'd probably rather take IM than CN, but I would absolutely love to have Nelson in this class. He absolutely makes plays, and a bird in hand is worth 2 in the bush. There is no guarantee IM could even be a part of this class.

One of my buddies here (FSU fan) has seen Nelson in action a couple times this yr and has said, even before ND and a lot of the bigger offers, this kid is special. He said he just makes plays and is head and shoulders the fastest kid on the field. I will say Seabreeze plays solid competition and produces D1 talent and plays against a lot of D1 talent. I would love to see him playing for the Irish personally.

Idk personally I see McKenzie as nothing more than a nice little complimentary slot receiver. I think we need more players with Gamebreaking speed a la Quick or Nelson.

I think that we will still take McKenzie regardless of Quick, but won't take Nelson if either were to commit.

Agree, I've been saying for a while that he's Plan B to Plan A "IM".
