Just my opinion, but telling the coaches that he knows ND is the best place for him, is like in high school when you told your friends you should date the nice, smart, pretty girl but you're enamored with the hot, popular girl.

Ha I was thinking the same thing. I hope this isn't a situation where his head is pulling him one way but his heart is pulling him in another. Situations like that sometimes end badly for us. (Anzalone comes to mind.)

I don't. I don't really care what he says/hints... watch what he says to non-ND people and it seems pretty clear he's not headed here. Really hope I'm wrong because he's an absolute baller.

I don't have any inside info on the topic, but your post can go both ways, no? Is it not possible he's pulling a Chris Brown and only saying that stuff to keep the local people off his case? I don't know one way or the other. Just trying to fill that half-empty glass of yours

I'll remain cautiously optimistic on Juju. Would love to have Redfield and him. Two five star safeties from California back to back would be amazing. I guess we'll have to see how this recruitment pans out.

I love me some Sampson and Brown, but those guys are a day late and a dollar short on recruiting. They don't break news, they report it. But no other journalist, save Keith maybe, has as good of a pulse on the actual team.

Agree completely. I think II is 4th in terms of recruiting insight right now actually - Scout has really upped their game with Hickey.

They have great football and program knowledge, and their articles regarding those areas are great, but their recruiting information is lacking IMO.

Yep, I almost feel bad for them. There recruiting info is a joke. I posted this in another thread but they wait for a poster to bring them breaking news from another site before they do anything. Not sure what Jake Brown does all day but thats supposed to be his gig.

The thing that kind of irks me as well is that when those posters bring information, they always have a snarky response to it basically insinuating either that they knew it, it should have been obvious, or it isn't news.

Totally agree, I actually have some sort of loyalty to them because I've had a membership for so long but there shtick is getting tired. I never post on that board but a few times have wanted to call them out for some of the excuses and crap they say. It never bothered me when Loy was wrong or being too much of a homer because it was clear he was at least working and trying.

Personally, I think the commitment of Sykes (and possibly Morgan later) freed-up Tranquil to stay at safety-- probably the best position for his body.

I would love to have Smith, but Tranquil is fast, strong, played-both ways with tremendous success, and clearly LOVES football. I am totally fine with the safety position.

ND has had good luck with almost oversized safeties who were often listed as OLBs:

Zibby, Hayseed, Motta, Baratti...
