Nice maybe he will see how much we used TJ this year.

Worth noting, even though TJ Jones started his first game as a true freshman, it really took two full years of regular playing time for TJ to become "TJ." He emerged over the last couple of years by running good routes and being on the same wavelength as his quarterback, moreso than via natural athleticism. He's a good athlete, but the stuff that sets him apart is more mental than physical. And that takes time to develop .
Hopefully Quick does that developing in South Bend.

I guess you're right, he will be here two more years barring a jump to the NFL after next.

There's nothing wrong with having two elite receivers on the field at the same time.

Agree, although I'm making the point that Quick shouldn't look at ND and have concerns about getting on the field early at WR.

Holding out serious hope that we land this kid. A difference maker to say the least.

would love for ND to land quick but I think his skills would be more needed if he played CB at ND and not WR.

Staff really likes the depth at corner. I really like our WR depth but I don't see a difference maker at WR. Meaning a guy who can bust a game open. Very few players can but I think Quick could.

He's got great breakaway speed as well but players like that do not last for ever. After the first injury they always seem to fall off the radar when they come back because they are unable to beat anyone without their speed.

Good point, better not consider recruting him or anyone with top notch speed for that matter, need to stick to slow guys since it won't matter after they blow out an ACL, they'll still be their same old slowness.

It was Quick and JuJu for me in this class but, I'll be more than happy to just get one. Fuller has proven a very capable and at times explosive player for us already. Don't write off Brown just yet either. With Golson back consider the field stretched!

Charles Nelson, the speedy slot receiver we're recruiting, tore his ACL in junior season. His 40 time now is faster than before the injury.

Well with McKenzie not coming I think Nelson will be a player. I was really impressed with his film

Really? IMO his film was significantly worse than McKenzie's. You may know more than I do about that, but I thought he was too small and not explosive enough to make up the difference.

As far as pure football player. I think Nelson can do more. He is also faster and more explosive imo. I think McKenzie is more shiftier and quicker. I just never saw McKenzie as a WR prospect in the slot. Only a kick returner and punt returner. Where Nelson has shown the ability to play in the slot. all this my opinion but I don't see McKenzie being apart of this class.

Did you watch the junior highlight tape, which was shortened due to injury, or the Hudl tape, which is pretty awesome?

Loy posted that he continues to feel good about him at ND, in part because Quick likes that the staff is telling him that he can return punts and factor into the offense right away. OU is still a serious threat though; Quick has strong ties to the Sooners.

I wonder have any of these kids seen our punt return or use of the slot WR ever...

Just wait until you see the classes LSU and Alabama sign. They're absolutely insane.

LSU isn't even a top ten class right now, correct? Are they expected to land multiple five stars or something?
