this is a pretty stupid comment, especially for someone who is considering leaving early to go to the NFL...

This is a pivotal point in Coach Kelly's reign. Either he hires wisely and we grow into the next phase or implode.

No pressure Coach.

Good for Diaco.

Personally, I thought he was overrated as a DC. He had a lot of talent to work with.

And has he ever been that great of a recruiter, outside of the Ishaq story?

We still have Brian Kelly. We're fine.

I'm actually in this boat too. But its always a step back losing a DC or OC or HC, especially in recruiting. We lost 2 of 3 to this point and its not even the end of the bowl season.

Back off the ledge, guys. Problem with winning is it creates assets out of your assistants that other programs desperate for talent throw money at. We knew this was happening sooner or later. I trust Kelly to make the right moves and that the staff is on the phone with the recruits.

Not that I really think matters but in Diaco's defense (pun not intended) they offered the job to Narduzzi who turned it down. He probably didn't expect to get the job and did expect to be back at ND until today.

What does his time thus far at ND tell you will happen? People need to chill the Fuck out.

I'm gonna quote my own post like an idiot. But this could also be read as a desire to stay and taking a 'stab' with the comment of come here make something out of yourself and leave.

Yes. I'm sure this is quite forseeable for the staff. Why else would you have a "co-defensive coordinator" in Kerry Cooks and a "passing game coordinator" in Denbrock? I think the succession plan has already been put in place.

Worst case scenario: BK makes an underwhelming decision, Tuitt leaves, and the defense suffers a bit next season. If this is the case, BK institues his high-flying offense from the olden UC times in an effort to outscore everyone.

Seriously though, it was only a matter of time. With success comes coaching changes. I trust BK to make a good decision and to keep the glue on the defenders in the recruiting class.

I also trust in Momma Tuitt.

I mean, I take it as Tuitt was seriously, seriously considering staying, and now he's pissed.

Yeah, was surely a rash comment, but the comment made me think he's planning on staying anyway.

Wasn't it a sticking point for BK in contract negotiations to be able to keep his staff and to help make that happen. He obviously had no control on if they stayed or left, but, with them gone does he reconsider as well

I'm holding off getting out on any ledge. All the reporters said BK was going to the Eagles too. Until I hear for sure he is the new coach, I'm not panicking. I don't have a lot of contacts like some of the posters but I have one who is good friends with the family and he thinks he is staying. He will get back to me tomorrow after he has "done some research" but he has been pretty accurate with the info he has shared in the past. As soon as I hear anything from him I will let you all know. Many decent programs lose coordinators for HC jobs. How do we know that Kelly isn't capable of grooming one right after another? How long had Martin and Diaco been with Kelly? I will wait till things get bad before I freak out.

Gotta believe Kelly is a ahead of the curve, ready to hit the recruiting class and shore things up, no?

I'm almost positive he was set on coming back before this and would've announced such intentions after the bowl game. Now I have no idea.

Hopefully Tuitt will calm down in the next month. Obviously everyone is angry right now.
