I'm not concerned with who the Irish play, just that they play-and win. I need to get the sour taste of the UM and PU losses out of my mouth.

A bowl win in a totally crap bowl with NO tradition won't do anything to get rid of the sourness of losing to two of our main rivals, EVER.

ND better win the damn game because 8-5 is no longer an acceptable record for BK and the Irish.

THE END

I was going to get tickets but I just read that Yankee Stadium has a natural grass playing surface... in THAT climate! The Steinbrenner family should be ashamed.

You do realize there is a big difference between the wear and tear on a baseball field and a football field?

Rutgers in their last 6 games is 1-5 and has:
-Lost 49-14 to Houston
-Beat Temple by 3
-Lost 52-17 to Cinci
-Lost 28-17 to 2-9 UConn
-Lost 41-17 to UCF

Please let us play the Scarlet Knights so we can beat them by 35+

Yes, the Irish need a win. It's not a BCS game, so I don't care who it is other than someone the Irish can wup up on! Again, the Irish need win!!!

We went 4-2 against Sagain's current Top 30 teams. I'm not saying we had a great season, but that puts things in perspective for me. This program has clearly moved in an "acceptable" direction, since this is as bad as a Kelly season is going to be for the rest of his tenure here. Stop being such a miserable person and enjoy your last chance to watch ND before the long offseason.

That's a damn good way to look at it. I'm normally quite pessimistic, but we did fairly well (except for the loss against Pitt - that was very disappointing) considering we were playing with Rees at QB and with all the injuries we had on defense.

Sagarin's current Predictor Model makes ND a 20.5 favorite over RU on a neutral.

Wanna give RU HFA for a game in the NY Metro area?

Then ND is only a 17 pt favorite.

RU should move up a smidgen in tomorrow's Sagarin ratings with their bowl qualifying 6th win. ND should also move up a little with the strong showing today by their '13 Opponents. ND's SOS was 19th. It will move up.

Touchdown Tommy Rees was the only QB to beat MSU this season.

I tempered my expectations going into the season. I thought we'd only fall 3 times, but OK we lost 4. I looked at 2013 as a just a season to TRY and enjoy. And I did for the most part. Next year will be different however.

EG is back. ND must put this year in their rear view. No excuses for 2014. Expectations are back to top 10 level (can't say BCS level anymore - yahoo!!). 3 losses, 4 losses, etc. will not be tolerated post Tommy. That's not a dig on Tommy either. He played above his ceiling his entire career.

Hopefully we have our heads in the game and can win this game. Obviously with some of our problems this year I have concerns but more than ever this is a must win. Go out with a win 9 win season and a trophy or a loss to a garbage team 8-5 and nothin to show for BKs first class would make this season a major disappointment.

I was thinking more along the lines of Kelly not having a QB that fit his system, not a dig at Tommy. But to be fair, our dubitable "success" vs. MSU was due to the gameplan which took advantage of MSU's DB aggressiveness. Rees didn't look very good in that game and I'm not sure we would have won without a couple generous PI calls even though the defense held MSU to 10 points. I'm definitely not complaining, it's about damn time we get some make-up calls from the B1G refs.

We gave every team on our schedule all it could handle. All four of our losses could easily have gone the other way based on only a couple plays. We played one bad game, against Pitt. That was about as good as we could hope to do with a QB who throws too many INTs, can't extend plays and generally isn't right for Kelly's system. I wouldn't say I am satisfied but the results are hardly unacceptable. Looking forward to seeing this team kick some ass one last time.

Sorry Emcee, but you gotta put the cocktail down :).
We gave Purdue all they could handle.... hell we had to score 21 in the 4Q. Navy was way to close too. Regarding the 4 losses going the other way. UM handled us. OK handled us. We did play the Tree well. No excuse on this earth for losing to Pitt as you said.
