this on the heels of a visit from the bama coaches like he tweeted yesterday evening. idk if it were set in stone it would be done by now....don't understand the waiting.

I don't either, but fwiw Loy's update could not have been more strongly worded without stealing Luatua's thunder. The way they are talking about it, I think there is virtually no chance he goes elsewhere.

Not worried about coach Brown in home. We saved Kelly's for a reason.

He's (or any recruit) not basing his decision timeline on our preferences, ya know ;). But seriously, it could be any number of reasons - maybe he has something in his personal life signifcant that he wanted to wait for, maybe he just wants to clear his mind and be 100% sure, maybe he only wants to commit on the date of a new moon, or maybe his dog ate his homework, etc...

@ISDUpdate: The latest on #NotreDame & 2014 TE Tyler Luatua. (Premium) Irish Sports Daily Forums

Assuming same thing as what Loy said, posting just in case anything new.

Yeah more or less. Just says announcing on the 15th and that ND looks to be in good shape, pending a Bama in home visit. I've been saying for a while that this feels like our Da'Shawn Hand... but the mods on all the sites continue to be extremely confident, so I don't see any reason not to be optimistic.

ISD also said that USC may be trying to enter the race late... which could get interesting with Mama and Juju. I have a tough time imagining them making up ground at this stage though over ND and Bama.

I think Bama has more pressing interests in other recruits at this point. Luatua may have missed his chance with Bama early on. I still say he ends up Irish.

Right. I just don't think he's a priority for Bama, but our coaching staff really seems to love him.

2 years ago, Ronnie Stanley committed on the 15th. It was his birthday gift to me. This year, Tyler will do the same. Thanks guys. Go Irish.

Doesn't look like USC or UCLA will be a problem, unless something drastic happens. I always felt like he was so down on USC because they never showed much interest.

@GregBiggins: In non related UCLA/USC/UW news, La Mirada (Calif.) TE Tyler Luatua said he's down to #NotreDame/#Alabama, will decide in the next two weeks

Loy is hearing that he'll decide in the next two weeks. He been getting told that for awhile now so we'll see but did drop an interesting note that corresponds with the two weeks at this point. That is that Tyler has a twin sister and their birthday is Dec. 16th. He thinks a pledge for the Irish could come then.

If I wanted to "tread" on you cando I would just run over you with my jacked up four wheel drive pickup by God.

Does it have a pair of plastic testicles hanging from the hitch?

And it may be time to change your profile pic, T Town. May I suggest this one?

^^ BOL has been saying for a while that he couldn't commit to Bama right now if he wanted to.

I guess they keep recruiting him in case a spot opens up??

Yep. End of the day Saban wants a couple of more corners. He is banking on M. Humphrey as being one of them. If Luatua does announce on his scheduled date it would be for the Irish. If he delays it, all bets are off. BOL is posting their war room update shortly. Maybe some more info will be in it.

BOL says Bama will not get any recruits from California so it appears Luatua is out. Also of note in their report... thinks Bama still leads for Elam with the Reed and Frazier commits having no impact. Bo is still up in the air. Lo Carter will not be in this recruiting class. That's about it for the recruits that have had mention on IE.

What kind of Bamma fan are you?

Nice to see you back posting at IE, Tommy from the other T-Town!

Tommy doesn't troll. He is actually a poster with so few of issues, that he couldn't be put on the ban list. He just doesn't fit. He may be "Roll Tide" all on the outside, but he has a warm spot in his Irish heart for ND in the inside!

It's hard to find good fans from other teams that aren't trolls these days. T Town is one of the exceptions. These kinds of posters make message boards more dynamic and not so one dimensional, add perspective. Wish there were more fans like this. I spend some time on BuckeyePlanet and ShaggyBevo for these reasons.

Bo up in the air because of grades or interest in Florida?

If it is down to us and Bama and he can't commit to Bama if he wanted, doesn't seem like a good scenario for us.

Has he been holding off to see if they allow him in?
