Apparently the job was offered to BSU's Chris Petersen; this makes at least the third PAC 10 job Petersen was offered and turned down. (Word was he turned down $4 mill/year from UCLA in 2011 and $3 mil from Stanford before that.) Not sure what's up, considering he making less than $2 mil in Boise.

Reports that Mora is at Washington TONIGHT for a meeting.

I'll LMAO if he leaves UCLA after all the shit he said just two days ago. What a bitch.

That would be AMAZING! Can we start the Gruden to UCLA rumors now? For some reason, I can actually see that one happening lol

Even though that may be his alma mater I don't see him leaving LA if only because I think he enjoys the spotlight UCLA has been receiving. I don't think he is trying to find a nice quiet spot to build a program and feather his nest.

He wants juice.

Peterson really wants Oregon.

Is prepared to wait in Boise. Family loves it there and it suits his personality.

I can see Mora pricing himself out of a move back and Pinkel capitalising. In my opinion its between those two.

lol wut. That's not even a lateral move...

Probably just trying to get leverage but if I was UCLA I'd just be like go ahead and leave for UW.

He could be drawn by UW being his alma mater, money, better facilities at UW and better AD.

No idea about UW AD vs UCLA AD but Bruce Feldman tweeted that earlier.

Sources, sources, sources.

Lol Bryan Fischer was one of the two that said he was interviewing tonight. Pretty sure he covers PAC-12 for CBS and Feldman covers all of CFB. CBS sources disputing CBS sources.

A certain defensive lineman who's name sounds familiar is confident.

Football Scoop is usually right about this stuff though. I'm more inclined to believe them then Feldman's "sources"

He should ask the UW players whether they thought Sark was a flight risk. "Faker than a 3 dollar bill" I think one player said haha

Really? I don't know much about Football Scoop but Feldman is just about the best in the business as plugged-in college football reporters go.
Mora to UW just doesn't make a lot of sense anyway. It's not even a lateral move at this point. But I wouldn't put a lot of stake in Eddie Vanderdoes' thoughts on the subject (I would, however, accept his transfer to Notre Dame if Mora bailed).

Mora has better facilities and there AD would probably pay more for Mora. Plus Mora is a alum.

"@BrandonHuffman: According to UCLA commit Adarius Pickett's father, UCLA's coaches, including Jim Mora, just left their home in the last 20 minutes..."

Pickett lives in the Bay Area.

“@adamgorney: Pickett says Jim Mora and staff was going over to Joe Mixon's house after his meeting. I don't get the UW meeting timing.”

“@adamgorney: Unless Mora is meeting with #Washington in between El Cerrito and Oakley, it's not happening tonight.”

Gorney trying to do detective work via his recruiting knowledge. Don't get why he thinks meeting could take place late tonight on the West Coast.

A few random thoughts:

Yes, Tosh, can recruit. But so can Orgeron. The difference, to me, is that Orgeron can really coach DL too. He did it at Miami, he did it at sc, and he even did it at Ole Miss (Jerry, Hardy) as the head coach. He's put a ton of DL into the league. Even somebody like Ty Willie should be able to recruit at sc though. So Sarkisian and Tosh together, should be able to recruit well, but how well they (and his staff) coach is another story.

Why are people proclaiming Sarkisian, himself, a great recruiter??

Yes, Super T turned UW into a dumpster fire, but they are historically a very good program. Hell, a few years before they went winless, they only lost 1 game...and probably got screwed out of playing for the Natty. They've won a Natty since ND has, they ended Miami's record home-winning streak, they put something like 5 or 6 consecutive (I believe) starting QB's into the league. In my opinion, the depths they sank to under Super T says a lot more about him than it says about the UW program and job.

Which brings me to Mora possibly going there. Sure, I could see it happening. It's not the lateral move many make it out to be. UCLA is Michigan St.-- they're always going to be little brother...but in their very own city, let alone state. He's an alum. He's an established unscrupulous guy. I won't believe for one second he isn't going there until they hire another guy. Now I have no clue if he will ultimately go there, but yeah, I could definitely see him going there.

I've brought this up before on IE and have never gotten anyone to corroborate or dispel this story on here, but I've heard from 2 different people, even just here in Nashville, that Petersen has a child with special needs and he thrives at his school/environment in Boise. Petersen and his family are extremely happy in Boise. This is the reason he hasn't/isn't leaving. I'm not sure if it's true or not, but it would make sense. Anybody ever heard anything like this before?

I believe I heard this during the broadcast of a Boise game. So yes, I have also heard this, but I have also heard that he would listen very closely if Oregon offered, not sure why.

I believe you guys, but it's odd that he seems to hear these teams out, whether it's Stanford, UCLA or So Cal. If he's sure he wants to stay in Boise, why do that three times? I mean, he could just be doing the search teams a favor, I guess, knowing he's unlikely to leave, but it seems odd.

35-29 was Sarkisian's UW record.

IMO, it was a lateral move for Steve. I also think Orgeron deserved a chance to run this team for at least a couple years...

More went to Washington. His wife was a cheer leader there. He LOVES the Pacific North West and is on record saying it's his dream job.

Correct. He has resigned, effective immediately I believe. And I understand why he would be upset that he got passed up, but he agreed to the interim HC position when Kiffy was shown the door. IMO, this little temper tantrum makes him look like a bitch. Be a man and complete your obligation. No one OWED him the HC job...

Initially it may seem this way, but I see it a little differently. Ed O wants to be a head coach. What if he stayed around at USC and then a new job that he really wants opens up and he takes that job? It would be detrimental for him to stay at USC at that point 'cause it is prime recruiting time. Does he stay at USC to take them to a lower level bowl game to fulfill his obligation and not hit the recruiting trail hard for his new team? Or, does he tell USC that he needs to get a head start on recruiting and leave USC in the middle of prepairing for a bowl game? How would that look?

Tough spot for him to be in.

I think he has an obligation to his family to see if there is something better out there. It's apparent that money isn't the driving factor.

As stated before, UCLA will always be the little brother to USC. Plus UCLA football will never be the top dog in LA. The Dodgers, Lakers, USC Football and UCLA basketball will always be higher up the ladder than UCLA football. At UW, he'll be the top program.

I would love Mora to take the Washington job if only for this:

If you guys think Mora Would EVER ditch us for Washington your crazy... It won't happen... I really doubt he is going anywhere... but it would absolutely crack me up with all the BS he has helped pull recently.

That's like EV committing to ND then saying fuck them and going to UCLA. Kinda dumb statement from him.
