I'm just going by what my co-worker said. I didn't read it myself.

Apparently the PSU guy at Rivals said that Quention may be sneaking off to PSU this weekend. His dad said that he wouldn't be sneaking if he went and that ND would be informed if he went.

I hope that means that he would ask for permission to accompany a friend even though he is not looking, rather than informing them he is taking a visit.

For a blue chip recruit, his recruitment has been surprisingly (and mercifully) quiet. Did I miss something? I vaguely recall rumors of a visit to OSU, but those were put to bed pretty quickly.

Edited from seeing more context, but I keep seeing his name linked to other schools still trying to flip him. Maybe I am just noticing it more than in other years. Anyway good stuff to have the new context

My bigger question is why does Quneton's dad have an account on a PSU rivals board?

The weird thing about his recruitment is that everyone... OSU, PSU, even Rutgers... has thought they were going to flip him. Which makes me wonder if he's just too nice to stop answering the phone and is telling everyone things they want to hear?

We all know that coaches will very rarely just waste time if there is no shot with said recruit. There has to be something going on behind the scenes that these rumors continue to come up. Not that I think Q is a flight risk but I definitely think he's been listening to other coaches for awhile.

So basically this is all out of thin air as far as we can tell?

There are a lot of things that don't add up, chief of which being Quenton's dad having a PSU rivals account and the timing of the hypothetical visit. They will be kicking off before Quenton is likely out of his pads.

Even if it's all true, I'm not worried about it. For all we know, he's just going to hang out with a buddy at PSU. What high school kid wouldn't want to do that?

Yeah I saw that and i don't even know what to take from it. 2 posts..one says Q Nelson could start for us next year.That they could have Nelson's on both sides.(I guess they already have a kid named Nelson) The next says seems a long shot

It's recruiting. If your not worried, you aren't paying attention.

You basically either have to decide that you don't care until NSD, or you have to worry.

It's recruiting. If your not worried, you aren't paying attention.

You basically either have to decide that you don't care until NSD, or you have to worry everytime a kid even glances at another school.

That's my view as well. Nelson's a 5 :s:

on Rivals, and his 247 Composite rates him as the #6 OT in the nation (just outside the 5 :s:

range). There's always speculation and rumors about blue chip recruits, and we've gotten no indication that he's wavering.

I thought I remember reading earlier this year, I believe a few months after he committed, that he LOVES ND, and in pretty sure at the time he shot down almost every possibility of him going somewhere else......things can always change, it is recruiting after all, but I'd be awfully shocked if he doesn't end up in South Bend.......JMO

Show him some ND love, Harry, and keep him in the fold. He's one of the cornerstones of the 2014 OL recruits. Let him know we can't wait to see him opening running lanes for Tarean Folston and Greg Bryant and protecting Blake Barnett.
