Pat has identified Yeargin as our commit most likely to flip, so he's naturally pronounced him the 2nd coming of an NFL pro-bowler. That way, if and when we do lose the kid, Pat can complain about the staff's inability to hold onto elite talent. But he's of course utterly unimpressed with the rest of our 4:s: recruits, and don't get him started on our 3:s:s.

Master-level trolling requires some serious foresight.

Sounds like dad is concerned that CBK will bolt for the NFL.

Could be, but I interpret that as Diaco bolting for something else. Don't know for sure which concerns him - maybe both.

Question... isn't Palmetto Sports the same place that selectively edited Chris Brown's father's quotes to make it sound like he was going to push him to South Carolina?

I was wondering the same thing. Plus, players and family members sometimes slant their remarks in the direction they think the interviewer wants them to go. He's talking to a SC media outlet, so he seems in favor of a SC school. If he were talking to Loy, the comments might have a different tone.

I'm feeling pretty good about Yeargin now.

Where have you heard that Yergin isn't athletic?

Speed is really the only thing he's going to lack when compared to Mario. I bet he is almost the same size by the end of his college career.

Seriously? You don't think a 16 yr old can add a couple inches and 25lbs?? Go back to debating Lacrosse with the other 9 people that care about that sport in this country.

lol funny because it's true. great parting shot. i'll miss Pat

Not true at all. I live in Alabama, and the sport is taking off! :) Obviously nothing like college football, but I think it is aspiring to hockey (in the U.S.) status.

I thought Chris committed silently. His dad was like wooooo hold on. they visited and then fell in love.

It seems like Yeargin dad is pushing Clemson a little and wants maybe his son to stay closer to home and not shut any doors in case anything happens.

You are correct on Chris Brown, exactly the way it went.

Phil Kornblut has been at it for a long time but both Clemson and USC fan bases don't like him. I also know he loves to spin things for both programs when it comes to recruiting. His goupstate website is based in Spartanburg ( Clemson's backyard). I personally don't like him or his radio shows either.

More quotes from Dad after the visit. Is it me or does it seem like Dad keeps saying one thing and Son keeps saying another.
Clemson gave Yeargin III more to consider

Yeah. Reading between lines, this totally sounds like RY3 wanting Notre Dame. Dad worried Diaco (or other coaches) might leave and nudging him to check out Clemson just in case. Can't blame Dad for that. Coaches leave. As long as he lets the kid make his own decision in the end. If that's what happens, he should be Irish.

Usually this is the other way around, I am sort of confused about a parent not wanting their son at Notre Dame.

My parents were happy I chose Notre Dame, but going to UT or Rice would have made holidays and family events much easier on my mom. Don't underestimate the family and comfort factors.

Is it possible that Pa Yeargin is just sincerely concerned about coaching turnover and wants his son to keep his options open a little longer on what will be the biggest decision of his life? (not that their couldn't be turnover at Clemson, too). From their perspective it can't hurt to visit Clemson, and if you don't visit you're basically crossing them off the list.

Call me crazy but I like to try and think the best of these people.

Not much. Just had some coffee and a balance bar. Gotta go work up some designs for the paving on an outdoor kitchen, then check in on some building permits. The engineer went on vacation so we wont get a wall schedule for another week at least. Told my kid I would give him a ride to school because he went and got me coffee this morning. Golden Army!!!!

Anybody with twitter feel free to retweet that.
