I'm assuming that Kelly and staff have already done some due diligence here and have been assured that he would get back in. Not the least bit worried.

That's what I was thinking. I would assume that Kelly would at least have enough info to know whether or not it would be pointless for EG to apply again. Since EG is indeed going through the process officially, I feel a lot better about it.

If he doesn't get back in after all this, I'll be super pissed... talk about cutting off your nose to spite your face. One has to think it's a forgone conclusion. Right?

To be honest, I don't see how he they won't allow him to be readmitted. I would actually be stunned if he isn't.

It isn't like he was struggling academically, correct? Was just the cheating?

Is this procedure more of a formality or is there a chance that he might be denied come mid-December. I just have no idea how this works for re-admission cases. Thanks in advance.

I have to believe there is a 99.9999% chance of him being re-admitted.

There has to have been scads of schools out there that would have taken him in a heartbeat, and he knows it. The only way he wouldn't have pursued other options is if he was given some pretty serious assurances that, if he kept his nose clean, coming back to ND was a lock.

There is a 100% chance of him being re-admitted. But I'd say there is a 99.9999% chance he gets back in.

Is this a vocab or syntax error on my part?

I'm sure I don't know the difference between getting back in and his re-admittance.

Dude, he is a football player, and the reason Tommy is on the field this year. Let him slide.

Said it before. Will say it again. I won't feel totally sure of anything until I see Everett Golson out on the field Labor Day weekend. There are still 15 ways this can go awry.

I agree with this. I'll feel much better when he is back attending classes in December...maybe even working out with the team.

I was being an *** pointing out that the word chance was put in with a percentage less than 100. The chance he gets in is of course 100%. That doesn't mean the outcome is. Kinda like playing the lotto. You have a 100% chance of winning, but little to no % that you actually will. Again. I'm just an ***.

I just don't understand what about ND's admissions history makes everyone feel so warm and fuzzy about his readmittance. I'm cautiously optimistic at best.

Wow. Even if you were being an ***, I feel like I learned something.

I'm in this boat. Confident that everything is fine, but well aware that if it isn't, NDs admissions wouldn't lose any sleep over screwing this up. I also think the staff would try to get him in regardless of whether it was a "sure thing" or a "long shot". So I put little credence into that.

Wooly: I know we're used to the worst things always happening but, if EG has all his ducks in a row it may be the most insane thing ND admissions has ever done.

There must have been some assurances made to EG to get him to stay solid during all of this.

Not enough for me to bank my life on, but one of my best friends' mom is in admissions, and she said they've known this was coming since Golson left and wouldn't have put him through all this if he wasn't going to be let back in.

Edit: this assumes nothing surfaces about legal/NCAA/eligibility issues popping up during his absence.
