He did all that to come back to be a back up because now he has to compete with a better QB, Zaire aint no Reese and he will only be better come January. Its funny to hear Folks keep talking about what golson did a year ago well folks that was a year ago. He has been away from the Game for a year and now he has to compete all over again and let me tell you he will have to compete with a more compete Quarterback and better athlete than he had before.
I wish some of you folks understand that golson didn't do the undefeated team by himself. That 2012 team had a hell of a defense something we haven't had in some time. So please folks sit back and relax because coming next spring expect the competition for the Qb position to be fun and exciting with Zaire coming out on top and golson being the quality back-up.

Showing ownership, remorse, humility. This kid is going to greatly benefit from all of this, and so will the team. 2013 may have suffered because of his absence, but he'll come back in 2014 better than he ever could have otherwise.

If golson comes back and is healthy, there will be no competition for the top spot no matter what coach says. BK didn't let golson fight through those early lumps last year for nothing, and by the Alabama game golson was the only one that could do anything against that defense. He got much better by years end, and will pick up where he left off.

If golson comes back and Malik starts, I will empty my vbank to you and leave a trail of rally porn while I exit this site.

Yes, we won because of defense but BK never fully unleashed the offense with Golson. He played it safe and let Golson develop while letting the D handle games but he gave Golson more and more responsibility as the season wore on. If you didn't see him improve throughout the season and aren't optimistic about what he brings to the table, I don't know what you've been watching. Also, you're proclaiming Zaire a better QB without taking a single snap?

I've put this on other threads but don't know if you've seen it.

I believe jojo is MZ's uncle. He posts just like a guy that used to be on the Ohio HS Football forum(Yappi) and would really talk up MZ.

Actually thats where I got my assessment from. I couldn't remember what relative he was suspected of being so I just said MZ himself. It wouldn't surprise me if he is a friend from school or extended family.

Hate to burst anyones bubble but I bet Golson got more practice away from the team with Whitfield than with the team and certainly more than Malik. No way possible he doesn't start. Just chill, Malik will have 2 years to start and mobile QBs can easily get hurt. He may play a huge role next year but Everett will start, Period.

Learn the system this year then get game experience the next two years before he takes over. I think MZ will be good but it's just not his time yet.

I am seriously not the least bit worried. Julius Jones, Gary Gray, Darrin Walls ... didn't these guys leave for a semester and come back? No idea why Golson would be treated differently.

Being able to practice with the team as early as possible is a huge plus for him. It'll give the coaches plenty of time to see where he's at minus a full season of football. Come the spring game I imagine/hope he'll be right where he left off, if not better.
