And he's gonna give them a "honest look" too. I'm done with this recruitment, he should have committed months ago. Go for Sykes and/or Lee

I'll join in on that too.

I much prefer we get in contact with players that are natural, both mentally and physically, linebackers. Such as Brandon Lee and Nile Sykes.

Personally, I think we give this kid too much attention.

His highlight tape doesn't really do anything (I thought his 7 on 7 film was good, though) for me and his offer list is below average. He's rightfully ranked a 3-star IMO. I'm not going to fuss over his recruitment, if we get him, cool. If not, I'd be over it in about 2 seconds. BK said he's not worried about the 2014 ILB team. Wake me up if Drue can ever make up his mind. If I were the staff, I'd be tempted to yank his offer because the ND offer >>>>> any of his offers and either he's really indecisive or loving the attention. That may sound harsh, but seriously, how much ****ing time do you need to compare Purdue to Notre Dame?

This has been debated plenty of times in this thread and others, but sometimes kids just like a school because it feels right. No other reason. Maybe he feels at home at Purdue in a way that he doesn't at ND, and it's not necessarily all about football.

Tyler has a younger brother?

I thought he had an older brother at Bama, but never heard anything of a younger.

Edit: Wrong thread.

Mox/nix, if he is interested in playing for a team then he should commit or stay committed. Remember, even though these are kids other peoples careers are in the balance. Its not peewee football anymore!

People's careers are on the line... but so is his entire future lol. And plus, he technically doesn't have to commit at all until NSD. And even then, that is the FIRST day recruits are allowed to sign. So no use in the general "sh*t or get off the pot" stuff IMO.

I understand that and there lies the issue. Hear me out. These are kids, right? If you give a kid too many options or an option between a steak and a hamburger, most kids will say hamburger. Many of them have no idea what the offers from ND, Stanford, Vandy, and other schools that will win with assigned talent mean, so they play the recruiting game, (ie. hamburger or hotdog). We want them to have and enjoy the steak.

What this does in my humbled opinion is hype up the KID, hype up the school, and really frustrates the parents/ fan (non issue in most cases). So, it then becomes a SOAP Opera. Again, take your kids to a restaurant and offer them burgers, hot dogs, spaghetti, tai, and a whole plethora of other foods. Give them a half hour while pushing what you think they should have and then just before ordering offer them everything all over again.

See what happens.

But there are plenty of people out there who truthfully don't like the "steak" option. It might be the "better" option, but that doesn't mean it's the best option for everyone.

EDIT: I understand the frustration, but these kids don't owe anyone anything in the recruiting game, especially kids that are already committed. It's not simply a matter of "flipping to the better option."

I agree, there are months left till NSD, and he is only under as much pressure as the schools that have offered him scholarships are putting on him. If the ND staff is ok waiting, then so am I.

Ok ... but Drue isn't at the restaurant yet. He is two months and a half months away from having to order. He can place his order in advance if he likes, but he can also wait till he's seated.

Look at like this.

The steak option might not be better when you have to pay for it but if its a choice of being better for your health for forty years and comes a substantially cheaper price, what do you do?

don't know why it matters if he committed today or in February. so what if he didn't decide today or tomorrow, certainly not a reason to pull his scholarship offer

I'm certainly not saying pull the scholly. He is already committed to a school, so keep his commitment to said school as that. Offer others and reduce the interest. There are others....

My problem with it is either his fault or the recruiting services them make it seem he would be making 2 weeks age after that a&& kicking from Ohio State. It portrays that he is just leading the staff on.

So to cut a long story short? He IS LEADING THE STAFF ON? Or is that just the media? I like short and to the point answers to.

i agree that Drue's family may have established their own timeline with some comments made to reporters but people change their minds everyday.

Bottom line is that he has a decision to make and it is in his own schedule, not the service's or fan base.

If he waits too long and we fill up (looking highly unlikely at his position) then that is on him, but Drue is in the driver seat with this because of us offering tardy.
