True, but I mean we're basically nationally televised every week.... So I guess I'm just failing to see the downside

I think it's stupid too. Bunch of whine-asses most of who, probably barely played HS ball let alone college ball, acting like it's all about them. This is about the kids and if you don't think they are pumped to play in primetime you're stupid. I would guess these kids and this staff are competitors, at least they seem to be.

I mean Navy beat Pitt the week before, so I mean by the logic of this board isn't Pitt in just as much trouble against us? I mean is ND not allowed to ever get tested or beat? Do people on this board not watch other teams? Does everyone not know how great of QB Coach Ken has for his option? I mean you guys act like Navy is terrible team, with a terrible scheme, and terrible coaching.

It's all vain overreaction, this ND fan hysteria that has been widely brought on by continued success in winning actual games. Enhanced greatly by a handful of posters here, who continue to find the negative no matter what the result.

ND is 27-6 in last their 33 games. I like those facts regardless of how we got there. Especially considering the obvious holes this team has had depth-wise, at QB, and from a talent standpoint. We all know that the schedule is tough year in and year out, but a lot of people (on here specifically) refuse to give ND credit for doing what everyone wants. It's beyond mind-numbing.

Because we already have to deal with being a circled game on the schedule for most of the teams we play. When it's a team that sucks (Purdue and Pitt), playing in primetime makes the moment that much bigger. Meanwhile, the whole day our team has to remain focused and pumped for a game in which the opposition is tough to get excited to play. Given the choice, I would much rather play this game at 12:00 or 3:30.

And because Bama-LSU kicks off at 8 too

A traditional power program that has long been a second-tier rival?

If it's hard to get up and play a team on primetime when you play for ND, then the problem isn't that the game is in primetime.

I'm here all the time. In fact you were green repping me the other day. I'm sick of the "we won, let's bitch about everything mentality".

Another team's motivation is just an excuse for why you didn't do the things you should have. That's an old football adage from my college OC.

And nothing was a shot at you, not once. The whining and complaining after wins is vanity, IMHO. It's for the whiner/complainer to make themselves feel better or justified if they are ultimately right and wheels fall off. The team doesn't care how they win, they win, they watch film, they try to get better and they move on to the next week. Fans, especially the ones who have little football IQ, little to no pertinent experience, and even less schematic understanding, use whining and complaining as a way to justify their inadequacy in understanding the game's finer points. The finer points being what ultimately wins games. Because they can't see the minuscule things that happen that win games, all they see are the mistakes and they can't figure out how they win.

The fan base for this team is increasingly rivaling that of LSU. You know the fans that seemingly change their minds on a dime whether or not it's time for Les to go, but you know what LSU still wins, because he's a coach who gets the effort when it's needed, it's eerily similar.

Stop being one of those negative nancies around here. Rees is every bit as good as Winston.

For the record, my thoughts on Rees as a QB are not great, I've made that abundantly clear over the last few years. He is inadequate a best, but the kid battles and what Hendrix has shown makes me happy we have Rees.

So I guess that Pitt wasn't as hyped up for that game then...is that what I am hearing?

FSU is clearly a Top 3 team. And other then Oregon's Offense probably the next best in the country.

And lets not fool ourselves here this is another one of those "Teams" that bring the best because they are playing ND blah blah Bull Sh!t. I said it so noone else has to say that crap.

I'm upset because I hate waiting around all day for the game. I like watching football in the afternoon then going out at night. I'm tired of all the night games.

For that personal reason it sucks. But it's the way of the new world for college football. It's a huge ratings monster and it's not going to change.

Start having kids so you don't need to worry about going out at night.

One thing with Pitt (as usual) is not knowing which team is going to show up - the good, the bad or the ugly.

Pitt's QB is licking his chops. He will have a Heisman evening.

Have you ever seen Tom Savage play?

Exactly, if I thought he would be upright I would be much more worried. Pitt hasn't been able to protect the QB all year and I think Tuitt and Co. can get pressure.

He is a heck of a talent but I don't think he'll have nearly that much production unless we tackle terribly, which wouldn't really be him now would it?

They don't particularly run the ball very well either.

Depends.......... which team????? Rutgers, Arizona or Pitt?????????? LOL!!!

GO IRISH!!!!!!!

Never played a down for Zona.

He has talent but when he's played any team with any kind of FBS talent on D he has struggled. i.e. FSU, VT, UVA, Maryland, and GT

Played well against Navy, Old Dominion, Duke, and to an extent New Mexico (2 INTS).

I forgot to use italics, clearly. Savage is terrible, but opposing QB's drink some strange potion ahead of playing ND and have the game of their lives. Hopefully we can get him rattled early and often.

Yep. We have made two very average QBs (Blake Bell and Devin Gardener) look great.

Right. And considering ND needs to jump 9 spots just to be eligible for the BCS, a prime time slot is just what the doctor ordered. They need a dominating performance in prime time that would probably get a few more votes than it would be if it happened at a noon slot. Gotta stay fresh and relevant in the voter's minds. Heck, I think ASU cashed in big time in voter perception from playing in that Thursday night game last week. It was the only game going and all eyes were on it. ND just needs to show up and blow up Saturday night and the BCS hopes are still alive.

is that so far or what is scheduled for the entire year because you know the Stanford game will be a night game and the BYU game could easily be a night game.

BYU is senior day. I'll bet my car, house, everything I got it won't be a night game.

BYU could not easily be a night game. It is set in stone at 3:30. It would never be moved.
