This is a scary story, but it was all an elaborate set up.

My senior year of high school, and we were all getting riled up about 'Wisconsin haunted places' that we'd find on google. Football season had just ended, so this was the next 'rush'. We found one that was called 'green eyes bridge', and it's about 20 miles away from civilization (picture below):

w_eauclaire_greeneyes_lg.jpg

You can google the story of why it's haunted if you'd like, but basically some servant way back when served a household and ended up murdering them all, and then hanging himself on the bridge. Naturally, it's haunted to the gills and with its location, a very, very creepy place to say the least.

Well 7 of my friends decided to scare the living hell out of me, and they succeeded.

If you look at the picture of the bridge, the 'far side' is the forest, and since you cannot drive a vehicle (only ATV) across, nobody goes there. On the near side is where you pull your vehicle up, shine the lights so you can see while on the bridge.

Like I said, 7 people set this up and I had no idea. 'We' made plans to go there one night. It was 3 of us (me + 2 *******s that knew what was about to go down).

w_eauclaire_greeneyes_2lg.jpg

*The night we went there, the water was much lower than this picture. You could basically walk across*

On the FAR side of the bridge where you cannot really get, was 1 of my other friends hidden in the bushes in a trench coat. Below the bridge was another friend video taping, and another to make noises below. The other friend hid in the bushes on the NEAR side of the bridge (you'll see why in a second) where we parked the truck.

So me and the two friends drive out there at about 11pm at night. Pitch black (again, they know others are hiding, but they say nothing to me). We park our truck on the near side of the bridge, shut it off so we can hear, and keep the brights on so we can see what we're doing. The 3 of us are in the middle of the bridge, looking around, talking **** to the 'ghosts', etc. All of a sudden, we hear a 'ding', which was one of the guys below the bridge. What happened next still gives me goosebumps to this day.

Again, we have our truck in front of the bridge, lights on, trucks off. We're in the middle, looking around and also to the 'other side' of the bridge. The ding was one thing and got our attention, but all of a sudden, the truck lights went out in a split second. Not like the battery was dieing, I'm talking directly shut off. All of a sudden, we have no source of light and are completely freaked out (me the most obviously). All of a sudden, the lights start flashing on and off, and then turn completely off again. At this time, the truck's engine is started, and someone is hammering on the throttle. There is **** in my pants at this point.

After about 10 seconds, the live truck puts the lights back on, and we look down to the far side of the bridge. A ****ing man in a trench coat starts walking towards us (my friends that were with me on the bridge were told to NOT let me jump over the bridge. That's how scared they knew I'd be).

So here I am, thinking this is all real. I start thinking 'why the hell did I not believe in ghosts/haunted stories/why am I going to die like this'. I'm sandwiched between a man in a trenchcoat who is getting nearer by the second, and a ****ing truck which mysteriously turned itself on and is revving the engines at me.

No idea why, but I choose the truck over the trenched man from the woods, and we run back and jump in and tore out of there.

How did I find out? Well, I went home, started calling everyone and was on MSN messenger telling EVERYONE what had just happened. After about a week, my friend Tony (trench coat) calls me and says he has to tell me something. Apparently his dad had been hearing things about this at work (about 45 minutes away) and said he had to tell me before the rumors continued.

It sucked.

It's weird when you posted those pictures because there is a bridge just like that but in Denton, TX. I went out there a few times and it is pitch dark out there. It's called "The Goatman's Bridge". Nothing besides a few "random" noises occurred while we were out there but none the less it had a freaky feel to it.

Here is the story behind it Goatman's Bridge

I thought this was fitting

Of course you can't forget the very haunted nearby University of Notre Dame. The Potawatami Indian tribe once used the land and some students report seeing the ghosts of old Indians wandering around. George Gipp, aka the Gipper haunts Washington Hall. Washington Hall is also haunted by the ghost of a worker who died when he fell from the steeple.

Ghosts of Indians and horses are sometimes seen on the steps of Columbus Hall on the Notre Dame campus. Father Sorin who founded the original campus is sometimes spotted in the administration building, usually on the third floor.

It's a real good one!

In Indy on the NE side there used to be an estate called the "House of Blue Lights". Owned by Skiles Test. It got its name because the owner had blue lights installed in many of his light fixtures and had blue Christmas lights on the outside year round. Built in the early part of the 20th century, this mansion stood empty for years and was frequented by teenagers in the late 50's and 60's (Yes I was one of them).

The legend has it that the wife died and the husband kept her in her in a glass casket in a parlor room. It was also rumored that he loved ketchup and hoarded cases of it during WWII with most of the cases still sitting in the house. He had buried his 100+ cats on the estate.

My first and only time there in 1970, I was amazed to find out many of the rumors were true. They had a pet cemetery on the grounds with countless headstones with little cat heads on top of the stones. The huge pool was still there with a fence that was about 20ft high and covered the top as well. The walls had caved in and had vines growing all over the fence. It was as creepy a place as you can imagine. The land was sold and the house leveled later on. When I told my kids about it, they thought I was making it up, until one day when the Indy Star actually ran a story about it and how it was one of the most visited places during Halloween season.

Google "House of blue lights Indianapolis" and you'll find stories to read. It's worth a few minutes of your time.

A lot of those arent true.

Ive been down prim rose so many times its not funny and ive never seen anything. I even walked down it on halloween with some friends and the only scary thing that happened was we got stopped by a county cop who told us he got a report of some white boys out squealing tires (i pointed out we were on a dirt road) He got real upset and started asking if we had been smoking mary jane and that he wouldnt tell. I told him no that the road was haunted and to look it up on his computer, to which he asked me if i wanted to handle the investigation. After about an hour of trying to shake us, he gave up and told us he didnt believe in no ghostisis how he pronounced it.

The haunted bridge over juday creek is commonly used by joggers. My buddies and i went looking for it one night and when i first saw it a guy came running across. It scared me, at first i thought ghost, and then i thought i was going to get mugged.

I drive down cleveland road a lot and have never seen a ghost house.

I had some girls give me a tour of st marys at night and it was terrifying, although i never saw anything it looked pretty haunted.

Holy crap. For some reason I got it into my head that this whole story was based on fact, or parts of it were true. I'm not sure what caused that idea to get into my head, but it made the first few parts more intense! After reading a couple parts I realized that too much was going on for it to be somewhat factual. Still a damn good read though!

I just finished parts 4, 5, and 6. I think all 6 parts are pretty good, and if you read the first 3 parts, everyone might as well finish parts 4, 5, and 6.

Here they all are:

Footsteps : nosleep
Balloons : nosleep
Boxes : nosleep
Maps : nosleep
Screens : nosleep
Friends : nosleep

I really do recommend the last three to people who only read the first three. Maps, Screens, and Friends are just as good if not better.

The way it's all tied together in the last chapter is incredible.

I've been down prim rose once, and it was pretty scary lol. I was helping with a hay ride for a Halloween party about 3 or 4 years ago. We were on prim rose going back to where we came from. I'm sitting on the tractor and we see a different hay ride go past us. We wave and all that stuff. As we continue down prim rose, I see someone run across the dirt road in a Jason mask. At this point, it feels like my heart is in my throat and I'm scared to death. As we drive by, he just tries to scare the kids in the back. Come to find out, he was there to try and scare the other hayride that we saw but the us confused with them. The story is pretty lame but I've never been so scared in my life.

Another place that I've heard is haunted is the Hacienda right by the St. Joe River in Mishawaka. Supposedly it use to be an actual house way back in the day, and a girl named Sarah that lived there got pregnant while still a teenager. Back then that was a disgrace to the family and everyone pretty much hated her for it. She couldn't handle the guilt so she hung herself. The rumor is that Sarah and her little boy haunt that Hacienda

In highschool my friends and I went up to Primrose Rd purposely to try and find ghosts. We drove up there and a bunch of us were packing heat just in case. aka. we had our paintball guns with us. Bc everyone knows paintballs will protect you from the supernatural. There wasnt shyte to see. Just a bunch of woods, fields, and nothingness. Primrose is an old legend...

Now the Hacienda house on Lincoln way. Before they added the addition on the back of the house, the bathrooms theres were creepy. The whole house had a really wierd vibe to it. But now that there is a huge addition to the back of the house, I honestly never get that vibe anymore and i was just there a few months ago.

Le Mans is def creepy. My best friends little sister lived there for 2 years. and i think she lived on the floor that was supposively haunted her Jr year. I asker her about it once and she said she never noticed anything, but that she had some friends who were constantly making up **** in their heads that they see stuff. lol. They would unitentionally scare the crap out of them selves.

One of the locally know haunted houses in the area, that is not on that list, is the old farm house on the corner of grape rd and brick rd in Granger. I dont know the current owner. But there was a family that lived there in the late 1990s that my mom knew. And ive gone over there before with her. Was never in there very long, but my mom told me a few years after they moved out, that they used to find chairs flipped over in the house and stuff moved around. Ther moved from the house due to job relocation, not because it was supposedly haunted. So either a ghost is in the house moving things, or their massive german shephards were knocking stuff over around the house. Its def the creepiest house in the area.

Ive actually never been in that hacienda. But from what i heard it was a servant that got pregnant. Either way yes according to people who work there it is haunted.

If you want to get a good scare in south bend, just drive through the west side at night.

I know the house you are talking about. My uncle was friends with a kid who lived there in high school (my uncle is in his upper 50's) The story i was always told was that he died in mexico later in his life in a water skiing accident but it was widely believed to have been no accident. He apparently was a drug dealer.

I never heard it was haunted though, but it looks creepy.
