I really try to avoid recruiting, but he looked like he was on a business trip this weekend, and was seeing what he needed. I really don't think anyone at ND expected any of these higher end recruits to commit on the spot. In fact the only note of discord I heard was the mother, who brought a younger daughter, who, when I asked if the little girl was having a nice time, the mother returned that the little girl was cold. I was going to suggest hot cocoa, but the look on the woman's face led me to not pursue that line.

I think NDWorld is on as always, remember this is about he and his parents seeing his brother. (His mom was impressed with the Irish, and as everyone know, as goes mom, so goes . . . )

This Luatua's mother? Or another mother?

Definitely another mother. No resemblance, whatsoever. Saw Tyler and his family a little, my impression is that even if they hadn't liked it, they wouldn't have said so with such a vitriolic veneer.

Do I get extra points for "v" alliteration?

Actually I was impressed by what I saw about most recruits expecially Tyler and DeShone. Greer Martini is a lot more solid that I thought. Very well centered emotionally, and physically gifted. I am now seeing him as being under rated. I think I see what the coaches see in the middle with Schmidt, Deeb, and Martini in the middle.

Oh, and not only is Mama beyond HUGE; Elam's pictures do him no justice. The guy does not look anywhere near as rolly-poly in person! That dude is double wide. Talk about someone to get off the bus first, with just a little work. Right now if that guy walked through the door with his scowl and Mohawk, you and I would exit the joint from the back door. The dude has a real visceral nastiness to him you don't want to wait around and see. He was the only recruit that walked by himself. But I don't take that as a bad thing at all.

I don't think we can discount him like that.

First, as we have seen this year with Troy, when the TE is involved (not the focal point like Eifert), the offense hits a different level. As it looks like now, there is no clear cut heir apparent to Troy. We have guys with potential, but nothing is set in stone right now. Looking back a few years, Ben K was going to be the guy. Well, he still could, but it doesn't look like that is in the cards. Hopefully Heuerman or Smythe can be the next great one, but nothing is certain. Plus, we need 2 or 3 TE's that we can rotate in and out for maximum effectiveness. IMO, that means we need 2 more TE's this class or we could feel a pinch in 2015.

I hear what you're saying about the position, and I wholeheartedly agree. My point is that while Luatua would be a great addition, we have enough depth at this time at TE and we afford to swing and miss here. It's not as if he's a can't-miss prospect either.

GreenSox...your sig is beautiful. You can replace it in a week or so with one of your favorite Sox player kissing the World Series trophy.

Green Sox - This is the second time that you have put up a sig that is way too big and bogs down the site. Cant you put something normal in your sig box that doesn't annoy everyone?

That's completely aside the fact that its the Red Sox, who are also offensive in their own right.

Go Cards!

You guys know you can turn off sigs right? I haven't seen a signature in a year and it's awesome.

No chance my man. Birds are gonna win this one at home. I'm feeling really good about it.

What happened to your avatar?

I tried to change it to a different Ron Swanson picture and it was too big and now every picture I try and upload is too big. I resize it to the size it says it needs to be and then it shows up too small. I got fed up and quit.

IMO there are four likely things that happened here:
1) Ole Miss last weekend really opened his eyes to what going to a party school would be like
2) He didn't like ND as much as he thought he would
3) Parents really want him to visit Bama again because they would prefer he played with his brother
3) He is just playing it close to the vest and doesn't want everyone knowing that he wants to come here

Maybe watching Hendrix run the offense in the second half scared him?

Talk to Pham. I had the same problem before. It's something weird that the website does.

A commitment this weekend would have meant he'd have to cancel his official visit to Alabama, a weekend his parents had likely planned for months. I had no reason to believe the talk of him committing this weekend wasn't true, but I also didn't understand why he would considering he'd have to miss out on that Alabama experience with his brother/family.

Excellent point.

Your signature makes me sick...How much vbucks you want to take it down?

hahaha sorry sherm, as a yankees fan i get that youre inclined to buy your problems away :smilewink .. but the downsized slam gif is here to stay!

Bless you. Any more Red Sox gifs of cheap home runs over short walls and silly shortened right field corners, off bad pitchers, and I would pass out. (nothing personal, sox fans)

im pretty sure the monster is 310 for miggy, too.
peskys pole is 302 for fielder as well.. confirmed.

GO SOX!

He originally planned 5 OVs, but Urban being Urban told him not to come or something stupid like that.

Has visited Ole Miss and now, ND. He still has officials set for Alabama (Nov.8) and Wisconsin (Nov.30)

He's always liked BYU, perhaps he'll set up his 5th and final OV there.
