I don't know why you would do that. If you're just going to clear it, catch it and punt it 70 yards downfield, right? All he did is potentially give the ball right back to the opposing team in a place where it can do something with it. Am I being a stick in the mud? I'd be pissed if that was my keeper.

My daughter is a keeper and though I would initially be like holy fvck where did she learn to do that, I would quickly escalate to holy fvck I'm gonna whoop her a$$ for doing something that dangerous and stupid!

We all on here really think we know?... WOW!! and then we'll hang our hat where information is really nonexistent.. If we have seen anything from BK it would be that he is using the best TODAY and letting the rest learn for tomorrow.. I'm not seeing this mess in real time I guess! Other than Day's of our lives... time passing through the hour glass should be normal by now... We Know Bryant is the 'man' but what if saving and teaching 1 yr would'nt hurt him at all and they see this? Bryant back there with our illustrious Cheater should do all a bit of vengeance

Uh. Huh?

Easy, he's just showing off for some hot chick he made eye contact with.

FWIW, I talked to a player on Thursday night who will rename nameless.

There is truth to the rumor that he is considering a transfer, but he just left it at "we hope he stays" and he came in with "too high an expectation of playing time with the stable of RBs we have."

He made it seem like it was still pretty up in the air at this point.

And I'm just a random guy who could be making this up, but his reaction made it seem very plausible that Bryant will be gone.

That all seems completely reasonable.

We can't continue losing top prospects year after year. How about simplifying the offense & defense around your best playmakers & put the best athlete on the field.

BK was quoted as saying that if they could not get Jaylon on the field then they were obviously bad coaches. Why can the same not be said for the offense? If Tommy makes it too complex all the time, or if Chuck Martin or BK do the same, then something MUST change. Freshmen might be a one trick pony, but they are usually really good at that one trick. I am not calling them bad coaches or calling for their heads - I just think we need to have the expectation (and the players should also have the expectation) that all players can help the team when they step foot on campus. Now it's just a matter of getting it done on the field and keeping them in the program.

BIG difference between the depth chart for the LB and RB positions.

Isn't Greg hurt though? You don't want to play a guy that's banged up, especially when you have other players who can make an impact. That could result in turnovers, missed assignments, and could potentially jeopardize a kid's career. Unless you're talking about the overall philosophy of BK's teams, I don't understand why this is even a debate.

If Greg was in fact injured, it's be irrational for him to be upset about playing time.

Make of that what you will.

if bryant is hurt (ND is seeking medical redshirt for him, no?)...then how can he be concerned, worried about playing time at this point?

no sense worrying over all this, what will be will be...my opnion is that he guts it out and leads ND to a natty in 2 years. but thats just me.

I agree with what your saying on the other hand it's tougher to get into ND then any other BCS school. If it's even harder to play as a freshman when your better then those in front of you but the system is keeping them from playing then we'll eventually lose those guys completely. I may be wrong but that's what was keeping Bryant off the field until the injury. Same thing is keeping Redfield off the field right now. I understand how hard the safety position is but on the other hand Washingtons safety Shaq Thompson played most of the season for the Huskies, same thing with Dix for Bama last year & Cravens for USC this year all seeing major playing time. If they can do it no reason we can't .

I consider this good news. It sounds like the transfer threat is not immediate yet. Lots of guys get frustrated about not playing as frosh, when they are far from home in a strange place with people they don't really know, so they talk about transferring -- but then they don't do it. I posted previously in this thread the story of my friend who would talk about transferring after his freshman year like it was a foregone conclusion, but then ended up staying and playing 4 years for ND. Don't get me wrong, Greg's unhappiness is cause for some concern, but I can't get too worried until it's confirmed that Greg is actually actively taking steps to transfer. You never know when they're just blowing smoke.

Right, I think you have to take the depth chart and the position into account. Jaylon is so much more athletically gifted than the other guys we have that no one else's experience is going to outweigh that athleticism, at least with Spond gone. That may not be true at other positions, especially at RB if Bryant is hurt.

I don't see a problem in sending positive messages. Its the "don't let the door hit you in the ***" messages that are ridiculous. Or the ones that were sent to Tommy after the Oklahoma game.

I'm on board with this. I don't mind when people tweet recruits, as long as it's accurate and positive.
