He is doing it for family and GF. One thing I learned when I was in college is never to make a decision based on your high school GF. 95% of the time, you will regret it about 3 months into your freshman year.

I did it myself...it wasn't 3 months. It was two weeks!

This is what we've come to on this board? We're taking shots at a recruits girlfriend? How do you know she is selfish if you don't know her at all? At least you didn't comment on her looks like other posters.

i've come to the conclusion that if there's already 60+ in a recruit's thread before he's even finished his senior season, it usually doesn't finish well for us

My college roommate had a free ride to ASU but his HS girlfriend talked him into satying close to home... so he did... literally before classes even started she dropped him for some other guy... but it was still too late for the ASU scholly. At least he was a good rommate....

Isn't that weird I had some Pics of a ex girlfriend stashed away and forgot about them. When I moved into my second house I ran across them and almost got sick. I felt like I needed to go to confession.

An ex of mine would keep pics of her exes in a shoebox... thought it was weird but left it alone... she's someone else's problem now, but somewhere, at some point, some dude has come across said shoebox and found pics of his lady and I together and instantly thought ‘I could never please this chick if she's been with guys like HIM"... poor bastard…

Two Our Fathers and three Hail Mary's should do the trick.

Is ND still recruiting Elijah?

It would be nice to have even more crazy depth. I would assume maybe they still have some feelers out there, but realistically I don't see him flipping and we'll be just fine if we don't take a RB this year at all.

The sad thing is if this was more of a low-character wishy washy kid we'd probably get him back. But he's making the decision for non-football reasons and if those don't change I'd think he ends up at UNC even if they're 1-11.

Personally I don't think Elijah's decision has anything to do with football. He's not choosing a school because they are good or bad he's choosing the school that makes everybody else happy. We may very well get back into this but UNC being bad I don't think is the reason.

Agree. Plus any kid worth hs salt, particularly a skill position, is going to think he's "The One" to set things right.

(Still hope he flips back)

I wonder if Rudolph, Floyd, Manti, Tate, Smith and all those top classes we brought in remembered how bad we use to be.

That's a good point but it's a difference of culture IMO. ND always had the facilities, budget, media attention, fan support, recruiting etc. to be a successful football program.

North Carolina isn't Tennessee, Auburn, Nebraska, or USC where you know they'll be good again soon. North Carolina is, like Kentucky, a basketball school where the football program will always be an afterthought.

100% correct. I think EH is a good kid. I don't fault him for his decision.

This has been over and the chapter has been burned. He is going to get to wear some brutal whippings but he will be close to home.
