LOL... I have waited for 20 years for a first round pick not named Joe Thomas to work out... unreal waste of a draft that one.....

too bad they couldn't have traded him for the Colts first round draft pick two years ago....

Really don't understand the move by the Browns. He did well last season. They must know something, or there must be some serious locker room issues. But a great move for the Colts.

i don't like the move. It has a mortgaging the future feel. We aren't close to winning sb in the next couple of years, so why?

Cleveland traded up to get Richardson, now will get a pick in the 20's for their bold move. If I was a Browns fan, my body would be covered with lighter fluid right now, if the last 30 years didn't already make me do that.

The Browns have 2 first rounders, 2 third rounders and 2 fourth rounders now. The new powers that be can rebuild how they like now.

It's not like Richardson could turn the franchise around on his own anyway.

He was 18th in rushing yards last season, 11th in attempts, and 40th in YPC at 3.6 (at least 100 carries). He had a long of 32 yards...and only 1 other rush longer than 20 yards. He also lost 3 fumbles.

The Browns, after kicking themselves in the @ss for drafting him 3rd overall, should now pat themselves on the back for getting a 1st round pick in return.

Well at least they still have Courtney Brown, Wiliam Green, Tim Couch, Gerrard Warren, Kellen Winslow, Kamerion Wimbley and Brady Quinn and all those other first round studs....

To the people knocking on Trent's stats.

1) He was a rookie.
2) He had no QB help.
3) He was on the Browns.

That's the dumbest trade I've ever seen.

I really don't think it's that bad. Now they can rebuild in a direction they actually want to go in.

They could end up with some crazy offensive foundation to build around like Teddy Bridgewater and Marquise Lee or something with that extra first rounder.

EDIT: The above example came from Twitter, I put no effort into thinking of other skill players to make my own example.

They'll draft Tommy Rees third overall then BJ Knauf later in the first... only to trade both of them for fifth round picks in a year...

1. I'd be surprised if there wasn't another team in the NFL that would give them more than a mid to late 1st rounder.

2. Trent Richardson is a stud and is an offensive foundation himself. They shouldn't have hired that coach if Trent didn't fit the system.

3. Why now? They could have gotten the same deal at the end of the year from some team.

I have a sneaky feeling that the Browns GM thought he was trading their 2012 NFL 1st round pick, Trent Richardson, for the Colts' 2012 NFL 1st round pick, Andrew Luck.

Moments later...

You left out 5th in TDs with 11. Dude was a beast last year

Adrian Peterson, MJD, Chris Johnson, C.J. Spiller, Doug Martin, Jamal Charles, and others didn't have QB's last year either.

As for your first point, about being a rookie, RB's usually don't need "time to develop." Hell, Doug Martin and Alfred Morris, other rookies, out rushed him by 504 and 663 yards, respectively.

It's almost impossible to gauge how good players on Oakland or Cleveland really are until they play somewhere else. Curious to see if Richardson blows up. His fantasy owners have to be doing backflips.

No. No he wasn't. GM's and coaches don't look at his value in Fantasy Football leagues. They look at his value, in you know, the real league.

Through 18 games as a pro, he's been mediocre at his position as a professional...and already traded as the #3 overall pick.
