I thought it looked like that because he wanted his knot to look real big at the top which shortens the tie length. Then you are supposed to keep your jacket on so no one can see it being that short.

I believe this to be true. My former co-worker literally wore "dick tracy" suits and fedora's and alligator shoes. --- no joke I lived across the street from him on campus, dealt drugs...college. I was shocked to see him the first day of training to say the least at what I thought was a prestigious career. But nonetheless he wore those big fat knot ties and they were always short but he would wear his suit when he had meetings. I always thought they were different ties but he said he just had normal ties that he tied that certain way.

haha no joke, the other guys on the set had to be laughing their asses off when cameras weren't rolling.

On the other side at least he doesn't have house slippers on. Sometimes these guys aren't prepared to not be behind the desk so they wear the nice shirt, tie, and jacket then have basketball shorts and slippers on under the table.

As a matter of fact I was watching BBTN and the one analyst stood up to do a demonstration and wasn't wearing any socks with his dress shoes and suit.

That's a look. Very European.

IIRC there's a really big college FB of BB that always wears dress shoes, no socks. I think it was Saban.

SVP did a sit down dressed up interviewing denard and i remember watching it on gameday and he had NO socks with dress shoes on...a lot of times you will see when espn cuts to a commercial that the commentators are wearing sneakers w/ suits on

The average tie is 57 inches. The difference between the tied length of a four-in-hand (thin) and Full Windsor (thickest knot can be four-to six inches. So if you want a tie to be about 18 inches, which would be just below the navel on an average man that is 6'2", the formula would be 57-36 = 21 inches. Subtract from that the neck size, an average man is what 16 inches? That leaves five inches for a knot. Something slim like a four-in-hand or an Atlantic, (which looks wide but is really short). What Meryl has is a Full Windsor, which is one of the longest knots. So if Meryl has a 20 inch neck and ties a Full Windsor, (which is what he has tied), he has about nine to eleven inches for the wings. IE. His tie looks too short.

That is also a smell, too! Unless you have expensive, breathable leather and good absorbent powder!

Or cedar shoe trees. Anything to wick moisture out of the shoes.

I've also found that actually washing one's feet with soap (instead of relying on the trickle down of soapy water as many do in the shower) goes a long way toward reducing smell.

I have to admit to going sockless at work occasionally. When it's 118 F outside, those little comforts add up.

I think I was an adult before I did this-- seemed like the trickle-down would do the job well enough without me having to spend all that time, effort, and energy, you know, actually washing my feet.

Same here. And I don't think it's normally necessary. But if you're gonna go sockless, it's worth the extra effort.

Told LSU 247 that it will be a tough decision between ND and LSU but whoever he picks will be the perfect fit. Looking to make a decision during his season.

If things are this tight now, just wait until Les Miles learns how to clap like a man.

Nothing really new here except he has been selected for the Army AA game, but a good read nonetheless.

Goal-Oriented Tristen Hoge Headed To U.S. Army All-American Bowl

“Notre Dame is number one,” Hoge said. “LSU would be a close second but Notre Dame is still at the top. They have a great coaching staff and everything there. I just felt at home at Notre Dame meeting the players and seeing the team relationships, you immediately pick up on that.”

Hoge does not have a timetable for a college decision, but didn’t rule out making one as early as the fall.

“I don’t know if I would commit on a visit,” he said. “It’s always not going to be just my decision. I’ll talk with my family about our priorities and what we’re looking for in a school.”
