I'm not convinced this guy was recruited to play qb for urban. Bet he's not used to having a Harvard offer from one of his commits.

So, ... is ND done shopping, Reece?

If you were talking about Reese Ryan he is a 2015 kid. IMO, we'll only be taking another QB this year if Golson isn't coming back. So something that won't be decided for awhile. It most likely won't be a highly rated guy.

Reece Davis was the reference...

There will be eighteen quarterbacks at the Nike Opening, and only two, Sean White and Keller Chryst have yet to verbally commit. Chryst is thought to be a Stanford lock. With this class, schools and their quarterback targets have aligned themselves early.

Trying his hand at football now? Is the anything the Flying Tomato can't do?!

I think he was talking about Rece Davis, playing off of the Lee Corso reference above. This is like a game of telephone.

Elite 11 Quarterback Camp -Best of Day 1

JC Shurbutt

Five who could ascend
...
DeShone Kizer, Toledo (Ohio) Central Catholic- The 6-foot-5 Kizer continues to show progression and given that the Notre Dame commit has one of the best sets of intangibles in the entire class for his position, he certainly belongs in the discussion among “stock up” prospects this week provided he continues his success. Kizer is the No. 5 dual-threat quarterback prospect in the 2014 class according to 247Sports.

Things that stood out
...
-Kizer's willingness to learn has impressed during multiple camp sessions that we've seen the Irish commit at during this cycle. Saturday proved to be no different as the three-sport athlete continued to soak in the coaching.

You can only learn so much about a person from interviews, but Kizer sounds very mature for a 17 year old (not sure on age) and seems like he focuses on the things a future leader should (improving weaknesses and wanting to compete with the best).

Seems like a great kid, clearly has a strong arm and is athletic. But is anyone else concerned about his accuracy? Obviously I haven't seen enough to make an informed assessment, but those highlights from the camp worry me a bit. He was missing basic throws pretty badly, and repeatedly.

Got the OK from his school to enroll early, which he says is very rare for his school. Missed the first session of summer school due to camps but is going to try and enroll in the second session which would be required for him to graduate early. He should know by the start of the fall semester whether he is on track or not.

Also identifies Corey Holmes as the #1 WR target at the Opening. Sounds like that came from the coaching staff.

Personally, I am not. The kind of accuracy issues he's having seem like the kind that a three-sport athlete who has never been a full time QB would have.

The nice thing about DeShone is that he can learn for a year to two years before he even competes. Golson and Zaire will be successful leaders and will allow him to learn.
