I could see that. Reading between the lines, I think the staff was high on him athletically and told him academically you need to do this and he didn't do it. And when that happens I can imagine it must be somewhat upsetting to them. They invest time and emotion and no commitment from the recruit.

Perkins wanted to be a starter and the OSU staff told him that wasn't going to happen barring a major injury/transfer-related roster shakeup, so they decided to part ways. Can't remember where I read this ... I believe it was on 247 somewhere and it was a month or so ago.

The Gerdman guy covers OSU for the ozone I think. I just saw it retweeted by someone and the follow up by Schmidt. Wonder if it ruins his chances of reuniting with Dieter at BG.


And actually, I live 10 minutes from BG and occasionally will look at the police blotter in the paper to see if any high school classmates are causing trouble. It wouldn't be that out of the ordinary if I did find it, but not this time.

I used to know someone that worked down there, don't know if it is worth making the contact, or not. My son had a friend, and I had a friend that I went to high school with both, about twenty-five years apart, that had the same thing happen.

With the college campus down there and all of the establishments along Main and Wooster within walking distance, when they run a kid, they charge him with everything possible, especially if the are drunk and try to escape or are belligerent. My friend tried to hop a fence and knocked some rails down. My sons friend took off, the group discarded a bottle which broke and something else happened; you get the idea.

What a way to start your new (third) college football career!

LOL. Wind swept plains! I must admit, it has only been recently that I have noticed. When I was a bit younger, I could never get past the 5 to 1 or 7 to 1 ratio of coed's to male students.
