Let me say that this board is great because of all the opinions so not trying to offend you. But really question what you have seen or read that even remotely shows what you described.

IMO, No knock on our upcoming starting QB, but he reminds me of Tommy, but moves and throws a lot better, (based on the film on page 1).
I assumed everyone had read my post, or at least all of it. I never intended to give a professional/expert opinion, and really what is a professional/expert opinion these days, ESPN? 247? They're wrong all the time. My comment was based strictly off of my opinion off of the film/video on page 1, which I stated in my 1st post. I never mentioned "I read this anywhere", I never said "This is the facts based on my expert opinion". Just re-read my original post again and tell me how I implied anything remotely close.
Bacon IMO is saying that do to nothing more than his physical appearance and if not then he doesn't have the slightest clue.
I think Allen is the best QB in the class, hands down and when it's all said and done I expect the recruiting services to say the same.
This kid is special, has the IQ, Arm, accuracy etc. etc. and the only knock is his smallish frame but at the college level that really shouldn't be that much of an issue as Jimmy Clausen did good for us and that was with quite a pores OL.
The kid just has "IT" .

Really tough to get a read here. I thought Ohio State would be the team to beat based on early comments but it seems like UCLA has a decided edge in things right now. Visit will obviously need to leave a big impression on him as he's looking to make a decision in by mid/late June. Probably would feel better about our chances if Chuck Martin wasn't his recruiter.
It's weird that I'd rather he go to Ohio State than UCLA. Not a UCLA fan right now.

He definitely wants to get a chance play early but the three heavy hitters in this race all signed high quality QBs last cycle. Woulard at UCLA, Barrett at O$U, and Zaire at ND. I think we have a real shot to wow him on the visit. The fact that he is looking to make a decision by the end of June and has no current plans to visit OSU signals to me that it is a two team race.

true...but the reason gunner stated he left was because he didn't have the relationship w/ martin....if martin is going to be calling the plays/working w/ qb's despite not being our best recruiter it makes sense to me that his position coach recruit him...look how well it is working for HH...so im cool w/ this...of course this is just the other side of the coin

Irrelevant in this situation (IMO).
We're in dire need of a QB, and if Kelly wants him, I would bet the house that BK is his on-campus recruiter during his visit.

How is it irrelevant? Martin is his position coach. That's like saying Hiestand is irrelevant to OL recruiting. Your position coach matters. Period. It may even be the single most important factor for a lot of recruits.

Since Martin is calling the plays, it makes sense for him to recruit the signal caller.
But ignoring that, if BK wants him, I assume he'll recruit Allen, regardless of who's listed as Allen's recruiter. BK often personally recruits the guys we really want, and BK is a really good recruiter.

I don't get this... at first you make the point for me. Martin is the QB Coach/OC. Therefor, it matters quite a bit how good of a recruiter he is and how much Allen likes him. Most recruits list the relationship with their position coach as the most important and far more important than the relationship with the head coach. That is a fact and that is why Chuck Martin's prowess as a recruiter matters here. A lot.

I agree that the position coach is the most important point of contact for most recruits. However, with the QB, BK is the most important voice in this case. BK has personally recruited Golson and Keil (not sure about Zaire???). He's not doing that with every OL, like the Heistand example you used (this, rendering the position recruiter more important, than say, a QB where BK is personally going to recruit).
My point is, it really doesn't matter who's listed as Allen's personal recruiter. If BK wants him (and there's no reason to think he doesn't), he will take over the reigns.

Alright I understand what you're saying. It's also true that Kelly basically coaches the QB position unlike every other position on the team so it's more applicable for him to truly take the reigns with the recruitment.

Can't track down a date but he said he wanted to have decided before Elite 11 finals which is sometime in late June I think. Doesn't give much time for an OSU visit.
So did all of the Chicago recruits he has failed to close the deal on over the past 4 years. On GITF's list, you can give him credit for Daniels and maybe Weishar and that's really it.

A regular name around these parts and much of the internet since his recruitment went “up a notch” three weeks ago when he received offers from Notre Dame, Ohio State and Alabama, and many have speculated that those three schools would make the final group for the talented 6-foot-4 signal-caller from Phoenix (Ariz.) Desert Mountain High School.
Eleven Warriors talked with Allen, the holder of 20-plus scholarships, about his final list and what makes each school unique prior to his public release via Twitter. Here are the final five schools, in his words and in alphabetical order, that have made the cut for one of the nation's best.
NOTRE DAME
“Notre Dame is unique, because it’s a national power football-wise, with a top ten world school. It’s a great mix of academics and athletics, and there are also very great people there.”
OHIO STATE
“Ohio state is Ohio State (laughs). It’s a great campus with awesome alumni, and a great coaching staff. There is a lot of support from everyone around the university and a great chance to make it to the NFL, as you see with Meyers track record with quarterbacks.”
The nation's top QB names a top five.
OKLAHOMA STATE
“Oklahoma State has unbelievable facilities and so much support from alumni and fans. They have a very quarterback friendly offense. The new OC (Mike Yurcich) is a bit unknown but will he will be soon because he is one of the smartest guys I've met. (Coach Mike) Gundy is a players coach too.”
TEXAS A&M
“Texas A&M is another place with awesome facilities. They have a great coaching staff with Kevin Sumlin and (QB coach) Jake Spavital. There are great people and awesome support, and they are really on the rise and have a great recruiting base. Plus, I’d be playing SEC football.”
UCLA
“UCLA is another place like Notre Dame, because of the education and football. I feel like they too are really on the rise because of the amazing people. Coach Mora is a great dude very family oriented and the other coaches are great. They have an amazing campus too.”
Now that the schools are in order, Allen will set up plans for what should be the last trips he makes as an uncommitted prospect. As we first reported two weeks ago, he is scheduled to make a trip to South Bend and check out Notre Dame’s campus for the first time on June 10th - 11th. The good news for Ohio State fans is that he’s now finalized plans for his return trip to Columbus, where he camped last June.
“I’ll back at Ohio State June 21st-23rd,” Allen told Eleven Warriors. “We have planned it already.”
What that means is two-fold for the Buckeyes as it pertains to Allen’s future. First, it means Ohio State will have an important second chance at impressing a player who was solidly interested in committing to the Buckeyes last summer. While he’s been on campus previously, this will be Ohio State being able to focus solely on Allen, not 900-some kids there for a two-day camp, and that means Urban Meyer and Tom Herman can reiterate to Allen how important he is to their future plans. They can show him how and where he can be used in an offense that most will tell him “isn’t designed for him.”
Second, and perhaps most importantly, is that Allen hopes to have his recruiting finished by the time he heads to the Elite 11 Championship, which takes place June 28th. Ohio State will likely get the final visit, which is a nice opportunity to make a final impression and presentation. After this month is done, the Arizona teenager wants to focus on exactly that.
“Once I am done with all this, I can focus on two things,” he added. “Helping recruit my class and enjoying my last high school summer.”

Elite 11 Finals is the last weekend of June. Visit to OSU is more than a week before. I'm sure his visit to OSU will be just as long as his visit to ND, ecspecially if u consider he is probably flying out to OSU from AZ.

What I more meant was going by his decision timeline it would be really tough for him to conclude his visit to OSU and then turn around within the week and make the decision before heading to the elite 11 finals. It seems like he will either have to cancel the Ohio State visit and decide for ND/UCLA or he will have to postpone his decision schedule. I'm leaning towards the latter. But I guess it's possible he could make a decision immediately following the OSU visit in that small window of time provided he has seen all he needs to see.

Actually it's a video from Scout and it's just talking about his top 5. Since he has yet to visit he can only say so much but he seems excited about it and one of those reason is Mark Andrews raving review.
