At the 34:45 mark, the host asks Mora, "Have you ever lost a kid/have a kid commit somewhere else that just really stunned you?" Mora responds almost immediately. He seems really unsure about what he's allowed to say (actually says he doesn't know what he's allowed to say). One of the hosts says Eddie's name but Mora describes him as a "kid up north, that ended up going to a school in the midwest". Mora then calls Eddie a dynamite player for UCLA and the program, gushes about the kid's family, says his sister wants to play bball at UCLA, loooooved mom and dad, etc. He says when you lose on a recruit you wish them well and concentrate on what you have, but that was the ONE that stung and "ooohhh god, I was heartbroken".

I haven't seen anything from anyone in any official capacity at Notre Dame stating they were "mad at UCLA"...Just alleged third-hand message board posts here.

If anyone OFFICIALLY at Notre Dame has any actual vidence of tampering by UCLA, then, no doubt, they could just put it out there in public.

Of course, they won't because they don't.

Notre Dame University has too much class to bad-mouth a recruit in public. If there has been a violation, Notre Dame will pursue the ethical course, but do so in private through official NCAA channels. If it was simply a matter of EV wanting to transfer and sit out a year as other transfers are required to do, Notre Dame wouldn't stand in the way. It's beginning to sound a lot like EV changed his mind and doesn't want to face the consequences of changing his mind. He doesn't want to face the year of ineligibilty required by the rules. The regulations are for everyone. The Vanderdoes family needs to follow the same rules every other recruit has to abide by. It seems like the Vanderdoes family has been talking publicly. The University of Notre Dame has remained quiet on the matter.

Notre Dame's silence may encourage all this speculation, but it is the right way to approach the situation. Let's not confuse all the speculation on this forum and the forums at UCLA with the official position of either university. The trash talking is being done by fanatics, not by the Notre Dame coaches, athletic department, or university.

my two cents:

EV dad spoke out that his perspective will reveal the issue, we are still waiting.
UCLA is feeling good about him going there.

All else is guessing.

I understand exactly what was being posted. I was just saying that it's pointless to throw out 'if' statements.

But I guess that some people find it more worthwhile to plug up the forum with speculation rather than waiting for more information.
