Worst Case Scenario 2014:

Hayes/ Springmann/ Trumbetti
{ Matuska, Jones, 3rd 2014 recruit, walk-on}.


If Isaac Rochell becomes a solid stud, this scenario is survivable, but it's hard to like the seeming difference.

Also if Kelly/Diaco pull two REAL GOOD added DLine to go with Hayes and Trumbetti, we could start, say, Khairi Clark in the middle --- young but not a bad looking group then.

if your worst case scenario does happen I would be all for bulking Okwara up and putting him on the line.

Yeah, I don't really buy the academic issue. I think it's cold feet and/or tampering from some so cal coaches. We'll see but the bottom line is if someone doesn't want to be here it's unlikely they succeed and the flip side of the coin is no one lets people out of LOIs.

Well damn now Im concerned about him coming. One thing last years team had was a strong sense of unity. Can't afford to put that at jeopardy no matter how talented.

I dunno... some sites seem to be reporting the latter, but I had always heard it was the former. Pretty darn sure it's not going to get worked out though and am interested to see how it all plays out.

Just to clarify things, TJ on II (who is arguably the most well-connected poster on any board) said THERE ARE NO ACADEMIC ISSUES KEEPING VANDERDOES FROM COMING TO ND.

That said, it sounds like cold feet, overthinking, the Matthew Thomas incident, distance, etc. that are all too common for high school seniors. TJ won't say what it is but this is what I inferred.

If it was going to get worked out, why hasn't it already? This isn't recent news. And the rumors I believe indicate an issue with ND coaches among other things and I don't see how you resolve that because the coaches aren't going anywhere. The only saving grace comes from him having signed an LOI which means this is really murky waters if he is in fact qualified.

Just don't see it all resolving itself now that the cat is finally out of the bag. Maybe it does because EV's hand is forced by the LOI but I'm really not optimistic.

They're only talking directly about the possibility that EV doesn't go to ND. None have explicitly mentioned the possibility that UCLA is the next choice, but the ones on TOS teased this possibility more than a week ago (without mentioning EV by name at the time, just saying a huge name was possibly in play soon, and then confirming today they were referring to EV), which indicates that they're hearing good things from UCLA's end.

EV was by far my favorite recruit, but if he doesn't want to be Irish....glad he figured it out before wasting our coaches time. There are good chances we run the table again and we won't have to sell like 10 zig ziglers.

I thought the world was ending when lynch left and look what happened....he may not start at s.fl we go to the title game and a future all American Mr. Day gets an opportunity.

I have no info, but if has a major case of cold feet I hope he stays in California and has a great career.

I doubt any of this holds water. EV spoke WAY to highly of ND to be getting cold feet at this point. And there are no academic issues. I say there is a 0% chance of him not suiting up for the Irish in 2013.

What's bullshit is that UCLA isn't allowed to have contact with EV after he signed the LOI. So explain to me how he's been orchestrating this without contact from UCLA?
