...at least that B1G schedule keeps getting more and more respected every year.

Apparently the B1G is banning teams scheduling FCS teams for future schedules. Obviously they can't change anything that is already set.

Only thing the B1G has better than the SEC right now. That and basketball.

If there is a drop off at slot then we have some big problems

Why? Why would a step down from 24 catches and 200+ yards mean that we have big problems? I love Toma but he was a bit player in reality last year aside from 2 big games for us...he even had 4 games without a single catch.

If we have a drop off at RB or QB, then we have some big problems. I'm quite sure that Prosice can come up with 15 catches (he has the potential for so much more, but zero experience), and then the drop off isn't significant.

But the slot RB catching passes, like what Theo did...now THAT worries me. Theo was amazing in that role, and I really believe he is still under-appreciated for just how clutch he was catching the ball. Someone really needs to fill that role for the offense to click at a high level IMO...

You could probably find a few games like that at ND every season.

B1G is REAL good at basketball, and I enjoy watching their games. No need to knock Wolverine on that account. Outside of Florida and Kentucky [and Vanderbilt] the SEC has no consistency in that sport.

The B1G is also good at hockey and runaway good at wrestling. It is "unfortunate" for their fanbases that all anyone wants to talk about is football, where they are embarrassingly going in the wrong direction.

Whenever the new B1G sheriff [Urban Meyer] has to tell the other coaching staffs to "step up their games" or the conference will become a laughingstock, you know that the rest of us are not imagining this regression.

Only when your team is good or it helps in an argument.

Here is what UM's b-ball arena typically looked like before last year:

crisler.gif

That was taken in 2007-08 when Michigan had their worst season at 10-22. Attendance has gone up since 2008-09 when they made the tournament for the first time since 1998, and now games are impossible to get tickets to unless it is against Arkansas Pine-Bluff.

But yes, that is what it looked like for a long, long time. They used to literally dim the lights so badly upstairs at Crisler to cover up the empty seats in those years. So many people quit on the program when they were down. You had the morons who said "I'm a Michigan football fan but state basketball fan". That disgusts me. That's not only exclusive here, someone I used to work with was a "ND football fan and an IU basketball fan".

Actually, in the spirit of full disclosure, this next season will be the first full season for BigG hockey. Six of the fourteen teams play it; Wiskey, Minni, Two Michigan teams, Buckeyes, and Lions. The CCHA was the best; I wonder how it will fare!

There are tons of those in Indiana. Unless you grew up a fan of one school and ended up attending the other, I don't understand it.

It is like all the Irish Catholic's from Toledo. Loved the Irish and the Buckeyes. Go figure. That is a dying breed, because there is no upside to it.

MICHIGAN BOTANY:
Entry: "BUCKEYE"
Definition: A disagreeable nut who hangs in trees, falls down in the road, and has no reason for existence than to produce other Buckeyes.

OHIO ZOOLOGY:
Entry: "WOLVERINE"
Definition: A overgrown rodent of such size and nasty disposition that its lack of redeeming social characteristics has extirpated it from its home state entirely.

INDIANA FOLKLORE:
Entry: "LEPRECHAUN"
Definition: A clever fellow who is smarter than you are, has great powers, and if you disrespect him, he will kick your butt while taking your gold.

The B1G teams had a garbage year. Michigan missed the tournament for the first time in 22 years, state was a bottom feeder as usual and ohio missed the tournament and got their coach fired because of it.

1 seed minnesota lost in the first round in a semi-upset to Yale (semi because Yale would later win it all) and wisconsin got destroyed in the first round.

The most impressive team was PSU. PSU was in their first season of Division I NCAA Hockey and they knocked off half of the B1G in their first season. Beat ohio in Pittsburgh, state and wisconsin on the road. That is really impressive.
