I'm pretty sure they ended the series first right? We just accelerated it.

Notre Dame and Michigan announced this summer that a two-year break is coming in the 2018 and 2019 campaigns, but that they intended to resume the series in the years following.
"Our contract with Michigan has an automatic rollover provision -- with a year being added each time a game is played," Notre Dame senior associate athletics director John Heisler said in a statement. "We needed to avoid the automatic addition of additional games until we can get a better understanding of our available inventory in those years -- an understanding that will develop as we implement our five-game scheduling commitment to the Atlantic Coast Conference."
Already dropped.
Wait, what??
ND dropped MSU also???
I missed that... anyone?
From my understanding we have a contract with MSU until 2032 with four games on (home/away) and 2 years off. That will start in 2016. We have a two year break in 2014 and 2015. That has not changed with the ACC scheduling.
It almost certainly will though. Look at what's happening with Purdue struggling to keep us on the schedule with the move to the 9 game conference schedule. It's very doubtful that with 9 games stone cold (USC, Stanford, Navy, Shamrock Series, 5 ACC) that we will be able to keep any Big Ten teams... I know we'd probably like to keep 1 or 2 (MSU/Purdue) and maybe we will but it doesn't look promising. At minimum, it becomes a crazy difficult balancing act to coordinate our schedule with when MSU/Purdue have their 5 away game seasons.
I hate that we still have to play Pitt. That f'ing game always gives me a panic attack.
Deep down they know the only reason anyone pays them any attention at all is because tOSU and ND... 1/2 their relevance is gone.... They Mad.

Not sure if serious.
Notre Dame doesn't schedule MAC teams and FBS teams.
Every team Notre Dame plays is an FBS team. They have played MAC teams before, and when Temple was scheduled I assume they were a MAC team.
State fans suddenly feel more important now that they are the #2 rival.
If Minnesota kept Glen Mason, who knows....they could be #2 now.
They were a pain in my *** from 2003-2006.
Also, I kind of find it funny for years, Big 10 fans have been saying that their teams should all drop ND because they won't join the Big 10, and then when ND drops them its, "how could they do this to us?"
Hate to break it to you bud, but MSU is your biggest rival. OSU has owned your asses except with the blip of 2011, and I don't expect that the change. MSU has beaten you, what, 5 out of the last 6 years or something?
