This isn't surprising at all.

Nearly year in, year out we have a beastly schedule...

Unless you skew the stats. ;)

NOT Phil Steele's Toughest Schedules

NOT Phil Steele's Toughest Schedules

If you read his intro it's NOT Steele's toughest schedules. The computations were done using the NCAA Method which he notes in bold type.

NCAA Method (Opponent Win %)

Steele is actually knocking the NCAA METHOD.

He notes their error of using last year's W/L record for opponents citing ND's actual '07 record of 3-9 in a rebuidling year when the preseason NCAA METHOD used the ND '06 record of 10-3. He also notes that the NCAA METHOD allows an 11-1 FCS foe to be considered better than Alabama's 7-6 record in '07 when in the '08 calculations when Bama was the #1 team.

No problem, this is an ND board not an Auburn board. It's probably my most frequent faux pas. Mea culpa.

Thanks for the pickup.

Bear Bryant's famous quote: "Light schedule makes fine team."

I don't think Bear ever had more than 3 tough games in a season and never 3 tough ones in a row. It was amazing how the SEC schedule always seemed to an bye week or at least a buy game before the BIG game.

I dunno. The schedule is obviously tough. But I dont think it is going to be as difficult as most believe.

Navy (Dublin, Ireland)--W

PURDUE--W

at Michigan State--W. Our defense is going to be too much for any new QB. I think nomatter who is QB, we'll beable to score enough points.

MICHIGAN---Ugh. Our defense will keep us in it. I believe we can win, and I don't think its an automatic loss. Not quite a toss up but close Realistically-L

MIAMI (Soldier Field, Chicago)--W. Miami does not scare me.

STANFORD---Stanford is an enigma. I don't know how good they will be. Toss up.

BYU---W.

at Oklahoma---Loss (Realistically). Valium prediction-- I have a gut feeling they'll win based on absolutely nothing outside of our defese and the valium I am on.

PITTSBURGH---Win. They're in dissaray.

at Boston College---Win. Their coach stinks

WAKE FOREST---Win

at USC---Loss. Our only chance is if we have 1 qb that takes control and blows us all away.

I think ND will have anywhere between 2-4 losses. My guess is 3 losses. I dont think we will be embarressed by anyone, and will be in every game.

BYU is not a easy win, good team and is a classic trap game

That's one that I have us losing...if for no other reason than the fact that we're inevitably going to drop a game like that during the course of the year.

I have us at 8-5 or 9-4.

Losses: OU, USC, MICH, BYU (possibly a 5th against Miami or MSU)

I gave you a valium benefit of the doubt, and appreciate your edited corrections. Howsomewhatsoever, I feel that I've been called to the front of the classroom and challenged by the teach to point to, and correct, additional errors in your post.

I dunno. The schedule is obviously tough. But I dont [don't] think it is going to be as difficult as most believe.

at Michigan State--W. Our defense is going to be too* much for any new QB. I think nomatter[no matter] who is QB, we'll beable [be able] to score enough points.

MICHIGAN---Ugh. Our defense will keep us in it. I believe we can win, and I don't think its an automatic loss. Not quite a toss up but close[.] Realistically[ ]-[ ]L

STANFORD---Stanford is an enigma. I don't know how good they will be. Toss up.

BYU---W.

at Oklahoma---Loss (Realistically). Valium prediction-- I have a gut feeling they'll win based on absolutely nothing outside of our defese [defense] and the valium I am on.

PITTSBURGH---Win. They're in dissaray [disarray].

at USC---Loss. Our only chance is if we have 1 qb that takes control and blows us all away.

I think ND will have anywhere between 2-4 losses. My guess is 3 losses. I dont think we will be embarressed [embarrassed] by anyone, and will be in every game.

*Good job. Plus 1 point for "too" rather than "to."

Now, on to other common errors/misspellings ...

Realistically Notre Dame will likely lose a few games, but if you don't think they have the potential and ability to beat every team on their schedule, you must not be watching the same team I am. Even with Notre Dame's above average team last year, they were in every single game (except maybe the Stanford one), and they even beat a really solid MSU team. Michigian will be the same as last year talent wise, MSU will be worse, USC better, OU will be pretty good but they will be overrated. Pitt about the same, BC a lot better (My sleeper team), Wake Forest - a little better. Every game is winnable.
